Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

An elderly man has died in hospital after he was struck by a cyclist while walking along Brisbane’s Bicentennial Bikeway earlier this week.

Police said a cyclist was riding along the bikeway near Queens Wharf Road about 8.45am on Monday before the crash with the 72-year-old St Lucia man.Credit:The man was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with critical head injuries.The cyclist, a 57-year-old Moorooka man, was treated for minor injuries.Police were continuing to investigate the crash and appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
