PwC gives Adelaide Writers Week ‘the flick’ over hateful views on Israel and UkraineSky News host Chris Kenny says PricewaterhouseCoopers is the latest company to give Adelaide Writers Week “the flick” over some speakers who spout “hateful and ludicrous views” on Israel and Ukraine. “So, they've demanded that PwC’s Adelaide Festival sponsorship dollars go nowhere near Writers Week,” Mr Kenny said. “Now this is all understandable given the billing included Palestinian American writer Susan Abulhawa, who's said 'it's possible to be Jewish and/or a Nazi at the same time – it's called Israel'. “This is people exercising their free will, protesting by pulling out.” Well given the dodgy track record of PricewatherhouseCoopers this may improve the reputation of the festival. I have clashed swords with Andrew Bolt on this idea of banning speakers. I don't agree with banning anybody from speaking. If their views are 'hateful' point it out. If they are ludicrously fact free then state the facts. In our Nation we argue. We must not shut up speech. Right to free speech, doesn't mean it has to be sponsored.
