Making up the numbers you reckon, Kane?

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has revealed the text message he sent Kane Cornes after his infamous "making up the numbers" comment.

The Magpies faithful did not miss on Cornes after the side's thrilling one-point win over the West Coast Eagles in Saturday's elimination final following the Port great's claim that they stood no chance of winning the match.Sunday Footy Show"I said, '76 to 75, how about those for making up numbers'," McGuire told Nine's"That's a bit of schoolboy banter. I loved what Kane was saying, I thought the whole year has been an adventure in so many ways.

Kane Cornes shot down Collingwood's chances of advancing in the finals prior to the West Coast clash "The whole AFL has been fantastic from Richard Goyder and Gillon McLachlan all the way through. Everybody is in there having a go and last week was just so good. "I don't know, we just had this feeling that we were good things and I was on one side of the country, I was miles away from the players, but it was good coming out with the phone calls and text messages and the build-up to it, and right from the first bounce the boys were on."
