Peter Switzer from the Switzer Report has told Sky News key economic data has been relatively weak, and is having a mixed effect on markets.

Mr Switzer said US investors were sweating the release of a jobs report just a day after recession fears ricocheted through global markets. An estimated $70 billion in value was wiped from the value of Australian shares over just two trading sessions on Thursday. But he said a positive session on Wall Street overnight could see the ASX open higher on Friday.
