Humanitarian aid to the Pacific Island nation is expected to ramp up after the airport was cleared of ash, making it safe for planes to land. Aid agencies have warned that access to clean drinking water continues to be a critical issue while clean up efforts are underway.

USA will not help an AMERICAN CITIZEN CHILD come home. My son 15 has been stuck in Tonga for over 2 years due to Covid and lost passport. NO HELP. They rather watch him die in all this Volcano Eruption and Volcanic Ash and Tsunami and no drinking water and low food.

Perhaps living a life on Tonga is no longer viable due to the instability of the region unfortunately 😕
