A driver has died after his car burst into flames following a police chase in Melbourne’s outer east early Sunday morning.

The man’s car crashed into a tree and caught fire in Dandenong North just after 3.30am as he tried to get away from police.

But the man failed to stop and sped off through a red light. Police deployed stop sticks on Stud Road near the intersection of Brady Road as they tried to bring the driver to a halt. “We will be offering counselling to those members and also to the family of the deceased person if they so desire.”

Would’ve been a really good father who loved his son and was always the life of the party who everybody loved so much always helping everybody else. Always sweet innocence ended by rouge police. Oh almost forgot, the mental health issue to be raised.

Thats a car?

Let me guess, this will be the polices fault ?

Bring on the future when police can control cars remotely.

I'm sure he dina do nuffin

Truck driver Mohinder Singh jailed for 22 years after killing four police officers in Melbourne crashTruck driver Mohinder Singh has been jailed for at least 18 years and six months for hitting and killing four police officers on Melbourne's Eastern Freeway. It was a terrible thing. Still how do you reconcile this sentence with the mostly non-custodial sentences that many drivers who killed cyclists have received? Very good result. Sadly the death of the police is mostly circumstantial. For all the faults shown in the trial there is actually no malace aforethought. The truck travelling in the emergency lane is not primarily an offence.
