Police allege the 30-year-old man was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, travelling southwest on the Salisbury Highway in Dry Creek at 3pm, when he crashed into the back of a black Toyota while travelling at a dangerous speed.

The Lancer then allegedly sped off and clipped a Holden, before crashing through a lane barrier onto the other side of the road, narrowly missing cars travelling in the opposite direction.The Lancer then allegedly crashed into a truck before the driver lost control and veered off the road into nearby wetlands.

Police allege the driver then sat on the roof of the partially submerged Lancer, before police arrived and arrested him. The Christies Down man was charged with driving while disqualified, driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, driving in a dangerous manner and endangering the public.
