A drink driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Adelaide's south will serve at least two-and-a-half years in jail for his reckless and selfish decision to drive.

Mr Joseph — a volunteer, coach and player with the Noarlunga United Soccer Club — was about to embark on the trip of a lifetime to the United Kingdom to work with English Premier League club Arsenal before he died.

She said a service station attendant working at a Caltex near the Victoria Hotel called police to report a man believed to be Norman for suspected drink driving on 12 occasions. But Judge Schammer said she could only find, beyond a reasonable doubt, Norman had been drink driving on one prior occasion — about two months before the fatal crash."Your decision to drive that night was reckless and selfish.Judge Schammer said Norman was working as a landscaper at Burnside Council at the time and if he could afford a night out with his friends, he could afford a taxi home.

An innocent life only worth 2.5 years jail? Judges need an ethical reboot.

Life appears to be very cheap in Adelaide.

Read the article, found the excuse 'was binge drinking to cope with the fact his father was dying.' Heads up judge, the bloke he killed had a father who has to cope with the fact his son is dead. He got pissed at the pub. He wasn't at sitting at home feeling sad over daddy.

That doesn't seem like a very long time

Hope the soap is left on the floor of the prison showers
