The last time Victoria had a 14-day case average of zero was on February 22. Back then only four cases had been confirmed statewide and there had been three weeks in a row of no new cases, a streak that was broken when two returned travellers tested positive for the virus the following day.
Ten postcodes re-entered lockdown on July 2 when the state’s 14-day average was 37.8 new daily cases. When the rest of metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell shire followed suit one week later on July 9, the 14-day average had risen to 83 new cases per day. By the time the state government's plan for reopening was set out on September 6, the 14-day average had dropped to 97 new cases a day. That's also the day the 14-day average became a crucial measure for Victorians, because many of the reopening targets were tied to the 14-day average being driven below certain thresholds. When shops and cafes reopened their doors on October 28, the 14-day average was 2.7.
"The notion that every worker will be spending every hour where they used to work is gone," he said. "That won't be the function of rules, that will be the function of the choices people will make after spending the best part of a year working from home."
Sucked in Liberal Party who wanted us all dead!
Andrew’s is a disgrace he did none of this the people did, not hard to lock everyone down. To the 800 people that died through his incompetence justice will come.
No deaths because Andrews already snuffed out the vulnerable months ago. Only the fittest survived.
RoryBurnside Dan all the work you did with lockdown paying off... all those fuk heads who criticised you are farked

Anyone can lock down a society. But it should never come at the tragic cost of 800 lives. That’s criminal negligence or at worst manslaughter. DanLiedPeopleDied danmustgo Dandemic GiveDanTheBoot resignDanAndrews ResignDanielAndrews SackDanAndrews
springst where’s Michael O’Brien? He would be expected to be saying the double doughnut figures are pure fabrication?
Yet Melbourne still living under harshest restrioms in Australia still. Sydney back normal.
That's a lot of donuts.
how do we have public exposure sites, when there’s been no new cases last 14 days? I assume the infected are isolating, so what else is it?
Yet still living under the harshest restrictions in Australia
Why aren't we moving final step then with 10 indoors instantly? It was about the dates then about the cases now about the dates. I know many are probably bending these rules anyway so why not change it
Can anybody explain why Victoria will never be normal again but the rest of the country will be? PRGuy17 can you spin this one for me?
After 111 days of lockdown and curfew? This is the natural conclusion, not extraordinary.
