Premier Dominic Perrottet has labelled the findings from a review into former deputy premier John Barilaro’s appointment to a New York trade role “incredibly disappointing”.

The Premier added: “I certainly want these roles to have the utmost confidence in the public mindset because they are incredibly important in driving trade and investment into NSW.” Mr Perrottet said he was adamant the recommendations and changes would ensure future mistakes would be avoided.“Mistakes will happen from time to time, and that’s just part of politics. This change today ensures that these errors won’t happen again.”
