ANALYSIS: Dominating the Cup of Nations is nice, but are the Matildas ready for a World Cup tilt?

The Matildas went through the inaugural Cup of Nations tournament undefeatedThe Women's World Cup takes place in France in June this year

New Zealand , South Korea and Argentina should have provided comfortable fodder for the sixth-ranked Matildas,Over the course of the Cup of Nations, Australia conceded just one goal and scored nine in front of healthy crowds totalling around 25,000. With that kind of quality on display, Ante Milicic will have surely kept half an eye on the fortunes of those teams over the past week.

England dominated that match, tearing apart a team they'll meet in the group stages in France and who knocked the English out of the 2015 edition of the Cup at the semi-final stage, putting itself right at the top of the list of teams to watch out for in France.

Rejected by football, Foster ponders his next moveCraig Foster is, admittedly, not everyone's cup of tea. But, over the last 12 months, his stocks have risen significantly. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when the reason you're 'not everyone's cup of tea' is because your commentary is 'intelligent and articulate'. The bloke is a legend. The ALP should be getting him in to Parliament. Otherwise make him CEO of Football Australia. Get rid of Gallop who is a prick.
