'Disruptive': nearly 10,000 NSW students get ready to resit NAPLAN online l pallavisinghal_

About 9700 students across 400 NSW schools will be among the 30,000 Australian students resitting NAPLAN tests on Tuesday, as a national review into the glitches that plagued this year's NAPLAN online tests begins.

The option to resit NAPLAN tests was given to schools and students last week after the original online tests in mid-May were disrupted. Hundreds of schools across the country reported connection dropouts, lags, difficulties logging in and problems inputting answers. NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said she has "serious reservations" about the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority's current plans to rollout NAPLAN online across all Australian schools next year.

"NAPLAN's logistically quite difficult for schools, it involves re-timetabling classes and staff and now they're having to do everything again," Mr Presland said. "It's nearly 10,000 kids resitting, that's quite a lot that are going to be disrupted. It doesn't surprise me that that many were affected but it surprises me that that many are doing it again."

A troubled life ended in 21 seconds when NSW Police were confronted by a Sydney manAs commuters flooded towards Central Station, an agitated man stood inside the station's empty florist with a pair of scissors clenched in each hand. Police must change policy of 'where' they shoot, they use to aim for legs, now they aim for heart. There is no happy ending for anyone who holds a broken glass to an innocent persons throat then runs at police with two pair of scissors. I’m sorry but there is no happy ending to this. No winners here ... Glad the servicemen were uninjured
