ANALYSIS: Dirt aplenty as candidates jostle for poll position in key Tasmanian seats

This month's public spotlight on Mr Mitchell's posts was followed a few days later by revelations of Labor's Braddon candidate Chris Lynch's historical drug conviction being splashed across the front page of The Advocate.

Labor party sources say they're confident they will retain Lyons, and don't think Mr Lynch's prior conviction will affect his vote in Braddon, but the headlines have at least temporarily distracted attention away from other issues.
