Delta is ‘like nothing we’ve seen before’: NSW records 124 new COVID-19 cases

NSW has recorded its highest daily COVID-19 case numbers in the current outbreak, with 124 locally acquired cases, as Premier Gladys Berejiklian warns the state needs to brace itself “for cases to go up even higher.”

There were 85,815 tests reported to 8pm last night, a record number of tests in NSW at any point in the pandemic. About 170,000 people have been tested in the past two days. “I think people are quite shocked as to how different and contagious the Delta strain is. Victoria was months ago pre-vaccine. Different attitudes then. People don’t have the patience anymore to endure a hard lockdown, let alone soft ones when they know vaccines are available. It’s 50/50 Sydney gets this under control…it’s near the point of no-return now….

Do we have a plan yet for follow up booster vaccinations for those that have had two doses of either vaccine?

Fully vaccinated people and families now need to be able to move around freely .This is the only way to get unused vaccines in arms . The Delta variant is now endemic .
