An inquest into the death of an Indigenous inmate who jumped a fence during a hospital transfer in NSW has been told the incident was "avoidable".His mother had tried to speak to him that day but was not allowedWARNING: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are advised that this article contains an image of a person who has died.
The court was shown CCTV of Mr Mackander arriving at the hospital's ambulance bay on the evening of November 5. During evidence from the officer in charge of the investigation, Senior Constable Jesse Mears, the court heard the incident was "avoidable" partly because of the absence of the grill."The gaps that Corrective Services officers left between Bailey and themselves was the one , and the other was the treatment I guess he received at the hospital," he said.

“may have lived if there was a grill on the wall he scaled”. Arrest the architect and builder and charge them with manslaughter. The young man who was allegedly driving high and attempting to escape custody is not too blame because of his race.
A very strenuous effort to blame anyone and everyone EXCEPT the person primarily responsible for his personal decisions and actions.
The death of this inmate has nothing to do with the police or prison guards.
Is the ABC trying to drum up a BLM/Antifa riot?
not news, partisan, disgusting activism. Research the real issues.
bullshit
Indigenous?
Perhaps he should not have run?
The result of the escape would have been the same regardless of the ethnicity of the prisoner. The racial identification is irrelevant.
How about if he had shown some self-accountability. I put this one down to natural selection.
No doubt, if they didnt try to escape
It's so gross to see people hand wave away death because a crime was committed. Should we just execute all criminals? People have no humanity these days.
why a 20 years old young man would risk his life for not getting back the correctional center
If only we had cared.
