Disgraced former MP Daryl Maguire has conceded to the ICAC inquiry he understood he was obligated as a parliamentary secretary to inform the premier of any returns in his position as a parliamentary secretary.

Fronting the corruption watchdog today, Mr Maguire was probed as to whether he understood he was also obligated to update the premier of any incidents which occurred between annual returns. “I should have, I should have," he responded.

Mr Maguire also told the inquiry he could not recall whether he received formal training or briefing on the New South Wales Ministerial Code of Conduct – which came into effect on September 14, 2014. He said, however, he understood that he was subject to the code’s conditions in his position as a parliamentary secretary.
