A cyclone warning has been issued off Western Australia's Kimberley coastline as Tropical Cyclone Claudia tracks over open water.

The category 2 system may produce gale force winds with gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour along the coast between Kuri Bay and Beagle Bay. Heavy rainfall is also possible around the Kimberley coast as the cyclone intensifies.
