Australia's cyber spy agency has abruptly cancelled a contract with the Australian National University to write its official history despite a military historian working for more than a year on the project | Gallo_Ways

"ASD is committed to delivering an objective and high-quality account of its history – and this work continues," the spokesman said.

"This has in part been motivated by the realisation that maintaining the trust of the Australian people in ASD is achieved by the government being transparent about what intelligence and security agencies are asked to do," Ms Noble said.

Gallo_Ways I don’t think the ASD needs to be more ‘transparent’. What does that mean anyway? More scrutiny by like everyone? No. I feel very comfortable with the ASD quiet in the background. Our democracy is bloody well resilient. Bcz of agencies like ASD doing their thing, quietly.

Gallo_Ways Disagree with Prof B’s analysis of China threat but have no doubt as an official historian of ASD he would be scrupulous and comprehensive on factual details. His radio contributions on Dept Home Affairs for example are sound and helpful IMV Capricious ASD not good look

Gallo_Ways They remembered it was meant to be secret.

Renewable energy agencies to be allowed to invest in low emissions technologyAustralia's two renewable energy agencies will be allowed to invest in low emissions technologies under new legislation set to be introduced by the Federal Government. Nuclear? Someone invest in reliable energy and I’ll sign up. Have you given the News Director's wife another show of her own like you did with the Childers special. I was at Childers for the ABC. She was there barely 36 hours. Hardly an expert.
