p_hannam 200+ years a long time coming.

sarahinthesen8 p_hannam Is their no native titles along the Murray Darling?

sarahinthesen8 p_hannam Yep absolutely agree

p_hannam Non-Aboriginal people have shown that they can't muster the political/ideological will in enough numbers to solve the most important problems. Without Aboriginal help non-Aboriginal people are struggling.

FVTOC p_hannam It remains mind blowing - and very deliberate - that Traditional Owners remain completely locked out of environmental and ecological management and sustainability. Our grandchildren are going to be asking what the hell were we doing!!

p_hannam 'Our elders are dying because our river system is dying', said Wilcannia resident and Barkindji woman Monica Kerwin. 'We don't want [the government's] billions of dollars poured into our community. We want our water flowing because that gives people hope.'

FatherBob p_hannam For goodness sake lets start taking this stuff seriously. 1. Give First Australians a voice in Parliament 2. It is their country, give them their republic, (no idea why WE the colonisers want a republic) 3. Adopt their flag. All too much to deal with? Give be a break.

FatherBob p_hannam 'There are too many water licences and too much pumping”. Thanks Barnaby

p_hannam Thank you for writing this piece. So much of previous messaging has been on Indigenous Land Rights, which drives a local focus, rather than the broader rights inherent in water and its connection to culture. Potential game changer.

p_hannam Oh, now you want they’re help.

p_hannam Too late. The river looks like it's dying. Turning it over to the original owners won't help. The cotton farmers are too powerful. (& to gotta ask what brain trust thought it'd be a good idea to grow water thirsty cotton where there ain't no water!?)

p_hannam Are the farmers pumping the water out going to cop any blame or are farmers exempt from all criticism?

p_hannam A racial water quoter? How... progressive... 🤨🙄
