“If you fight back, you want to fight back for your skipper who was on the receiving end of that bump,” Nathan Buckley added in commentary.Buckley described Webster and his fellow inclusions as a “sight for sore eyes for Saints fans” and labelled it “ironic” his return happened to be against North Melbourne.Clarkson was later handed a $20,000 fine and copped a suspended two-match ban until the end of 2025 for his “inappropriate” expletive laden spray.

“I reckon Al Clarkson might just hold his tongue – I don’t think there’ll be any conversation going that way,” Buckley said during Saturday’s match. “Both of these teams would be aware of it. Maybe that might account for two or three per cent of energy that comes their way.”
