More than one in four people with COVID-19 are waiting four days to self-isolate and get tested after they first notice symptoms, unknowingly exposing contacts, health authorities say.

NSW's COVID-19 resistance delivered a trifecta of good news on Friday, with one new case, no mystery transmissions and a week of single-digit daily increases.

Meanwhile, Victoria recorded 179 new infections on Friday - the first time the daily increase has fallen below 200 since July 13. Nine more people have died of COVID-19, taking the national death toll to 470.Prime Minister Scott Morrison said NSW's public health response to the pandemic is "simply magnificent", and confirms the national cabinet's support of a suppression strategy.

High volumes of testing in Sydney this week has not resulted in a significant increase in COVID-19 cases. The state hasn't recorded such a low number since July 3, when no new cases were reported.

Why are they self-isolating rather than being placed in hotel quarantine?

Some poor understanding of the data here. 73 percent didn't wait 3 days to self-isolate. By day 3, 73% had self-isolated. It is a cumulative measure. 50% did it on day 1.

Scare and fear mongering continues in the media Isn't the media lucky Covid 19 hit

Even if this was true, not everyone is a scared little rabbit and runs off to be tested if they feel a slight tickle.

More scaring by the media

This article is untrue. Once you get tested you are told to self isolate until you get your results. Not sure why this was even written..

HOW DO THEY FUCKING KNOW THAT
