A criminal investigation is trying to determine if a young woman jumped or was pushed from a moving vehicle — killing her instantly — on a Queensland highway. Gladstone woman Courtney Anderson, 28, has been named by police as the victim of the fatal incident on the Bruce Hwy near Rockhampton on Monday afternoon.
“She sustained catastrophic injuries and she lost her life,” Detective acting Senior Sergeant Kevin Mawdsley said on Tuesday. “I won’t comment at this time about how those injuries were sustained. “I can confirm no other cars . It was a one-vehicle incident.” Anderson’s partner is in Rockhampton Hospital being treated for shock, Mawdsley said. Witnesses described him as being “very distraught and highly emotional”. He is co-operating with the investigation, according to the detective.
