Victoria has recorded 37 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths today, its lowest case count since June 26 when the state had just 30 cases. Meanwhile, NSW recorded 10 new cases yesterday, including four linked to known clusters. Follow our live coverage:

NSW residents can use the Service NSW mobile phone app to check into venues across the state, under changes aimed at making it easier to trace possible contacts of COVID-19 cases.

“The check-in automatically captures the date, time and location, and securely stores them on a NSW government database for the sole purpose of contact tracing. After 28 days, the data is destroyed. ” The changes to the app are being rolled out across the state after about 400 businesses in Dubbo and Sydney took part in a successful trial earlier this year.Delirious patients shouting and roaming in hospital wards have been linked to super-spreading of coronavirus at Melbourne hospitals, as the state continues to grapple with the infection of hundreds of healthcare workers.
