Coronavirus is rising in the UK, but the death toll is strangely low. No one is quite sure why

While younger people can die from COVID-19 complications, older patients still have a much higher risk of death from the disease.While the UK's second surge of infections could still spread to older people, the doctors on the front lines of the crisis appear to be better equipped to cope.

Tests were mostly limited to older people and those who had been checked into hospital with respiratory problems.

Well yeah people do know why and have been saying it for 6 months. The PCR test give false positives and lead to many cases even when people aren't sick. Less people are dying in the UK because in the warmer months there is less respiratory deaths to be redianosed as covid.

Given the fact that their 2nd wave has just recently picked up speed, I’ll await the 14day Coronavirus cycle and keep my fingers crossed.

Looking at trends there seems to be an approx two week lag between cases rising and the death toll increasing, hopefully that does not happen and it’s all younger heathy people who recover much faster.

Lots of people know why and have been saying it for months. The tests are being over-amplified to get false positives. As in, scientific fraud to achieve a global communist takeover. When will you start telling ppl the truth? You false narrative is crumbling.

Maybe because younger adults would prefer to go to the pub with friends than prioritise the lives of old folks they don’t know.

More people getting tested Puts the case numbers up. More isolation of older people keeps the deaths down.

The elderly and chronically ill are probably hiding in their homes unable to go out.

It's of no use to the virus if it's host dies.

Actually it's totally obvious & a lot of people know why. The PCR tests are unreliable and can pick up dead virus, particularly because UK runs 45 cycles. They are mass testing now. The susceptible people have sadly died; 80% of people probably already had preexisting immunity.

Here's a few hints. Exponentially increased testing, herd immunity, it's not a very strong virus & most that will die from it have already been taken.

Because if you are under 65 and healthy, the mortality rate is not much above zero. And we’ve known that for 6 months....
