A 55-metre barge and a 180-metre crane are in place at the site of the Breakfast Creek Green Bridge, which will provide an important link between the athlete's village and the Brisbane city ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games.

The bridges were part of a Brisbane City Council program to increase pedestrian and cycling links across the Brisbane River.in order to afford a $327 million bill to rebuild and repair the city's infrastructure.The council's transport committee chairman Ryan Murphy said the works were expected to take about 12 months.

"We will now get to work installing 33 marine and two land piles with about 320 tonnes of steel to be used during construction of the bridge.
