Plans to introduce smart drumlines across Queensland could be costly and potentially dangerous for swimmers, according to a new report.

The Palaszczuk government commissioned a report into smart shark drum lines weeks before their lethal shark program was thrown out by Queensland courts.

The solution, used in Western Australia and New South Wales, has been deemed too expensive and not safe enough to be a viable option for Queensland. The study's findings come after Queensland removed drum lines from 27 beaches along the state’s coast following a federal court ruling that found sharks are not to be euthanized on the Great Barrier Reef, instead they must be caught and released.

Sharks have been here for millions of years and man only tens of thousands of years hey stupid humans learn how to communicate with your older neighbours

Makes more sense to string electrical impulse lines across the floors of the bays/areas to constantly operate 24/7 to scare away predators . Is this not feasible?

China unveils new nuclear weaponry in 70-year celebrations | Sky News AustraliaChina has flexed its full military might as the Asian powerhouse celebrates 70 years of Communist rule, showing off some serious weaponry in the process. \n\nMilitary analysts across the globe have paid close attention to China’s display of weaponry, noting a few weapons in particular.\n\nAnalysts paid particular attention to the DF-41 missile on display, an intercontinental ballistic nuclear missile believed to be the most powerful on earth, and the DF-17 hypersonic glider. \n ‘Communist rule’ by an elite is oxymoronic. Communism fundamentally means a society with NO ruling class. If a country has a ruling class, then calling it “communist” means you are totally ignoring what Marx and Engels said. Communism and a ruling class are wholly incompatible. Gotta love the precision of the Chinese armed services. No longer a developing country. Where's Greta?

Australia could withhold sensitive information from US investigation | Sky News AustraliaAustralia could withhold some information from a US investigation into what triggered the FBI's Russia inquiry despite the Prime Minister declaring he is 'ready to assist'. \n\nA senior government source told The Australian politically sensitive materials like diplomatic cables were unlikely to be turned over. \n\nThe cables are often used to describe important meetings - like former Australian high commissioner to London Alexander Downer's meeting with former Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos in May 2016. \n\nImage: AP Hmm, that would make me wonder whether the PM was complicit in getting rid of anti-Globalist Tony Abbott. Both Tony and Trump wouldn't sign that Climate Ponzi Scheme called the Paris Accord so .... Coups Am I stupid or something but doesn’t the FBI have a record of Downer’s ‘information’.
