Commentators blow up over 'disgraceful' act

Canberra's Hudson Young came under under fire from NRL commentators for appearing to deliberately poke the eye of Warrior Adam Pompey after a try was scored against the Raiders.

The Raiders face a tough finals match-up against the minor premiers Melbourne Storm after a shock 24-20 loss to the Warriors in Canberra on Saturday afternoon. Young was making a late tackle on Pompey in the first half when he was seen coming over the top and having two attempts at the face of the Warriors player.

"He's done it before. That is absolute garbage. That is not what our game is about," NRL commentator Brett Finch raged on Fox Sports. "Look at the pressure on his eyes... that is terrible. You can't touch the eyes of an opposing player."He could go for anywhere between 12-20 weeks. He went for two cracks at it.

As dirty as that play was, the commentary shouldnt have went bizarre to the attacker. Think about his family listening to that. This can backfire and put alot of pressure on his life. Pompey didnt seem to care.. as a warrior fan, I hope Young gets through this.
