Coles' chief marketing officer Lisa Ronson told Sky News the retail giant took its role as “essential service” during the depths of the COVID-19 crisis. A surge in panic buying in the nascent stage of Australia's COVID-19 outbreak saw sales figures surge to $8.23 billion in the third quarter - up 13.8 per cent on the same time last year.

“It really resonated with the Australian people because we were trying to look after those who couldn’t get into the supermarket. “We also shifted our whole online business to look after those people who were elderly or who were in hibernation.” She said the company’s marketing department was separated into two teams, each with a specific focus on providing information to customers.

'We knew difficult times were coming': Can Chinatown survive COVID-19?The lockdowns might be easing, but it will take a long time for our many beloved Asian businesses and neighbourhoods to recover, and many won't survive. I certainly hope they can survive. I don’t understand why this article only refers to the people as Chinese aren’t they also Australians? I'm surprised the Chinese Communist Party hasn't laid claim to all the 'Chinatowns' around the world as their own property Not a chance. Apparently, Australia is racist to the core & it’s systemic everywhere. ChineseFoodMatters

'This is not how science works': setback in COVID-19 treatment searchAustralian scientists have savaged the international mess over a study of the drug hydroxychloroquine as a disastrous setback in the search for COVID-19 treatments that would scare off patients and undermine trust in good science | Kaubo Kaubo Maybe SMH should ban all pharma advertising for a month in protest against this obvious attempt to discredit low cost effective treatments. Probably go out of business... Kaubo The entire story is an absolute mess. Undermining trust? Bolsonaro threatens WHO exit as COVID-19 kills 'a Brazilian per minute'Brazil's death toll has gone past that of Italy, but President Jair Bolsonaro continues to argue for quickly lifting state isolation orders, arguing that the economic costs outweigh public health risks By imposition of the supreme court, governors and mayors are responsible for any measure against covid19. The President only has to pay for everything and have a general record, not being able to intervene. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Praying! 🙏🙏 Economies recover, the dead don't & their families don't spend reducing the economy (unless you have outside tourists) NoGoZone
