Those who meet the requirements can simply hand over their container to a Coles deli staff member, who will weigh it and fill with the requested amount of cold cuts or small goods.Glass and ceramic containers will not be accepted, presumably for workplace health and safety reasons. "We are trialling bring-your-own containers at a handful of Coles supermarket delis in South Australia to understand how best to provide this option to customers while continuing to meet stringent food safety standards.

We used to take our own container to local Chinese restaurant in 1970’s and come home with something delicious, never sick as container was always clean and made of glass.

This is ridiculous. First bags and now this. 🤦‍♂️

'cut down on packaging waste' Ah huh 🙄

And do I get a discount for BYO?

If they really wanted to cut down on package waste they would get rid of pre-packaged fresh fruit and veggies

Coronavirus likes this 👍

Won't worry me while they have a welcome to country on their receipts. I won't be shopping there.

Who else can see this being a food safety nightmare?

It would be a good idea if the Wodonga store would pickup the boxes and product from the floor as well not fill the aisles with unloaded product trollies, the worst organised Coles store ever!

Respect coles for having that much faith in humans to wash their own containers properly 😉

Some people are filthy...will be bringing in filthy containers.

No just no🤮🤮🤮
