The Climate Council ought to “concentrate on information and science” rather than being proud of themselves for making people scared and angry, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. This comes after the Climate Council released a new video for its tenth anniversary. “If their aim is to scare people and sheet home every bushfire, every flood and every heat wave to climate change, you'd have to say they've had some success … much of the media buys this stuff, and it all leads to emotional responses.' Mr Kenny said the Climate Council is helping to make people angry. “How wise is that, given Australia cannot change the global climate?”

Richard Marles ‘a failed Defence Minister’ for committing to ‘symbolism of AUKUS’The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says Australians have to draw the conclusion “Richard Marles is a failed Defence Minister” with Australia’s current defensive structure. While AUKUS is Australia’s biggest defense investment, the nuclear submarines will not be operational until the late 2030s with no immediate missile programs acquired despite Indo-Pacific tensions. “The government has decided, because it has committed to the symbolism of AUKUS, it is not going to do anything about acquiring a military ability for Australia over the next ten years,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News Australia. “And this sort of nonsense of moving a few blokes from Adelaide to Brisbane and then trying to sell the media that this is a dramatic restructuring and it’s all about deterring China. “This is the worst of Australian Defence Syndrome – where we do nothing but we talk a big game.”

‘Won’t age well’: Judge smiles at Trump’s trial like it’s a ‘comedy show’Footage of the judge smiling at Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial as if it were “some kind of comedy show” won’t age well, says Sky News contributor Kosha Gada. “It’s not a good look because judges are supposed to be neutral, they’re supposed to metaphorically be wearing that blindfold of justice,” Ms Gada told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “And just expressing that neutrality on their faces and just resounding to the facts that are presented in the four walls of the courtroom. “And it’s any defendants’ worst nightmare if you walk into a courtroom and you think the fix is in, or the judge already has made up his mind. “So that’s just a general macro point, let alone if the defendant is Donald Trump.'

Prince Harry’s public image has ‘completely tanked’Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue says Prince Harry’s public image has “completely tanked”. Ms Krakue spoke to Sky News Australia on Sunday evening about the latest unfolding events facing the Sussexes. She said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “so adamant that they want to curate their own public image”. “And unfortunately, the more they seem to do that, the more they actually fail. “Many people don’t understand but actually the Royal Family and their coverage of Prince Harry over the years … they really actually saved his public image because ever since he’s left and he’s been completely in charge of his image, alongside his wife Meghan Markle, it’s completely tanked. “And it just shows that sometimes actually having the protection of people you may not always agree with is a blessing more than a curse.”

Continuation of US support ‘vital’ to Ukraine’s chances of winning warInternet 2.0 co-founder Rob Potter says Ukraine can see support is going to get harder and harder, with the US excluding further military funding from a last-minute budget deal. “The level of support they had obviously when the situation was acute and the Russians were planning siege to Kyiv is not necessarily the same circumstance it is today where there’s a grinding fight in the eastern part of the country,' Mr Potter told Sky News Australia. He said although it is still very significant and is claiming a large number of lives, this changes the amount of support Ukraine can expect from foreign countries. “And they’re preparing for a possibility of having to live on leaner times. “However it’s going to be absolutely vital if Ukraine has a chance to win the war for US support to continue.”

Anthony Albanese slams Coalition’s ‘commitment to destruction’Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has slammed the Coalition for their “commitment to destruction”. “They don’t have any alternative plans, they don’t have any policies, they just have a commitment to destruction,” Mr Albanese said during a media conference on Monday. Mr Albanese said Tony Abbott’s style of government is the reason why the former prime minister didn’t last a full two years in the top job. “Because if you just say no to everything, you don’t actually have an alternative agenda going forward,” he said. “The Opposition have been obsessed by destroying everything that they see. “I’m continuing to be out there, engaging on the full range of issues, whilst the Opposition just shows themselves to be wreckers, and that is not providing a genuine alternative.”
