| China has accused Anthony Albanese of undermining the prospects of a reset in Sino-Australian diplomatic relations by linking Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with Taiwan and backing NATO’s accusation it is colluding with Moscow.
Mr Albanese, Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern and President of South Korea Yoon Suk-yeol at the NATO leaders’ summit in Madrid.
He noted the recent end to Beijing’s almost three-year freeze on ministerial contact, when Defence Minister. Labor has also indicated it would be willing to reopen high-level dialogue with China. NATO’s stance, which is the first time China has been listed as a threat since the alliance was formed in 1949, was supported by Australia and its Pacific allies Japan, South Korea and New Zealand, the leaders of which were invited to Madrid.
Well Albo is showing the same lack of diplomacy skills as Morrison. Overreach is not in Australia's best national interests. Biden maybe able to get away with it - but an Australian PM cannot. We need soft diplomacy skills.
Prediction: Russia will become China's vassal state
they are busy building military bases in China sea They want to be the boss They want to dominate every1 else in Asia Pacific
Good that AlboMP is strong on Ukraine but seems utterly incapable of articulating what the China problem is. “Forward-leaning”? “expanding their economic influence” among words used. Plus vague gloop about being more aggressive. Maybe in Sth China Sea but it’s not real clear.
Beijing is correct. Why did the PM with L Plates do this.
Hooray. Someone else sees Albomoronic for what he is.
LOL. They are the aggressor, maybe when they acknowledge that we can talk to them 🤷🏻♂️
