Australia should 'limit its reliance on China' | Sky News AustraliaAustralia should look to diversify its trade relationship with like-minded countries like India and support major investments like the Adani coal mine in order to limit our reliance on China , according to LNP senator Matt Canavan.\n\nChina is Australia's biggest two-way-trading partner, accounting for 26 per cent of exports.\n\nHowever, relations between the two nations soured after the federal government led the call for an independent, global investigation into the origins of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.\n\nIn the aftermath of this, China slapped punitive tariffs on barley and warned its students against returning to study at Australian universities, citing 'racism and coronavirus' concerns.\n\nMr Canavan told Sky News the pandemic has given the government time to reassess its trade situation.\n\n'It is a difficult challenge, but I don't necessarily think it's a complicated one,' he said.\n\n'The simple things we have to do is to develop and diversify our relationship with other countries, reinvest back in making things in this country and therefore limit our reliance on one economy, that is China.\n\n'I'm not saying that's easy, I'm not saying it's just flick-a-switch and it'll happen, I'm just saying rather than flail about this, let's just focus on what matters...and what matters is building relationships with countries like India.\n\n'We should be supporting a homegrown domestic manufacturing industry in this country.'\n\n\n\n\n\n\n mattjcan You have had seven years to do this mattjcan and what have you done ? mattjcan What makes a country “like minded”? And how likely is it that you chose India so your brother can send his coal there? mattjcan Too late, Welcome to the new order. The Victorian Communist Party.

Unfortunately democracy and pluralism haven't played a huge part in China's history. And there's the Tibet thing. The investigation will be no doubt conducted in designated places with decorated scenes in China leading to a sanitised report. Guess who is going to proofread that? The CCP.

UK accuses China of 'gross and egregious' human rights abuses against UyghursIn a further escalation of diplomatic tensions between the nations, Dominic Raab accuses China of human rights abuses in the Xinjiang region and foreshadows a change in extradition arrangements with Hong Kong. Emperor Xi and his minions really need to get over themselves. Just a nasty mob of authoritarian thugs. This is not a new thing for China, I can remember way back when I was a child, when they treated their own people like slaves, then hit with famine, if it hadn't have been for the WHO & other countries giving aid more would have perished. And look at them now, arrogant & vile. Please take care some physical measures to sanction those 🇨🇳 officials who are involved in exploiting human rights of uyghurs and Tibetans. They might have children studying UK while uyghurs children are taken away from their parents and brainwashed. This is intolerable
