A Perth man has been found guilty of murder after claiming he was defending himself against a home invader when he tied up his victim and bashed and stabbed him before slashing his throat.Mr Tran died after suffering stab wounds and blunt force injuries in the attackDominic Calabro had been on trial in the Supreme Court for the past three weeks over the death of Andrew Minh Tran, whose body was found on the lounge-room floor of a house in Balga in July last year.

Friends and family of Mr Tran clapped and cheered when the jury delivered its verdict after about three hours of deliberations. The court was told Mr Tran had suffered multiple injuries including stab wounds as well as blunt force injuries that were consistent with being inflicted by a metal tow hook that was found near his body.

Calabro, 40, later rang triple zero to tell police there was a body on the floor of his house and that they would find him at a nearby fast food restaurant.
