Former Westpac boss David Morgan says CEOs are 'ridiculously overpaid' but the pressure of the job causes some to 'literally weep' in private

Former Westpac boss David Morgan says company chief executives are "ridiculously overpaid" but the intense pressure of the job causes some to "literally weep" in private.

Former prime minister Paul Keating with former Westpac CEO David Morgan at the launch of the latter's biography in Sydney."Most people don't talk about it honestly," Dr Morgan said in an interview with the book's author, journalist Oliver Brown. The function was attended by senior business and political figures including former prime minister Paul Keating, former premier Bob Carr and his wife Helena, Westpac CEO Brian Hartzer, Dr Morgan's wife Ros Kelly, a former Labor minister, former Treasury secretary and Westpac chairman Ted Evans, former Treasury secretary Martin Parkinson, and Mike Cannon-Brookes snr, who set up the US bank Citi in Australia.

If you can't handle the stress of business leadership then hand over the business ownership to the collective employees

That's all of us, David, you're not fucking special.

Good, I hope these freaks are fucking miserable.

My dude, I worked as a CNA in a SNF and I cried at the end of every shift as soon as I got in my car because I couldn't actually take care of the human beings I was supposed to. Take your CEO and shove it up your ass, I'm sure the CEO profiting off of me wasn't crying.

I want David Morgan to ask literally any kitchen worker what the walk-in is for.

same bitch you ain't special

Lol speak to some retail and hospitality workers who earn in the low five-figures and i guarantee at least half of them cry on the job REGULARLY

The fact that they think “literally weeping” because of job stress is unusual shows what charmed lives they lead.

we're all literally weeping in private over our stressful jobs, for far less money.

Wept regularly, panic attacks, sick to my stomach from fear of my bosses and co-workers writing me up for things I didn’t do, harassment from said people, all while pregnant with a high risk baby which they knew all about. This was at FoxValleyParks

Do rich people think they’re the only ones that get stressed about work

Unlike basically every other job. 🎻

I can do your job at half the salary and with no weeping.

cry more

Fuck 'em, they have enough money, they can find a different job.

After college & volunteering, I had to choose btwn tampons & food I cried & kept working I went to job interviews hungry I cried & kept trying Later, my FT job didn't pay enough to cover any add'l expenses & had emergency surgery I cried & had enough Applied for gov assistance

Cry me a river.

Let me get my fiddle...

Eat him.

Causes some to “literally weep” in private... jets?

That’s gotta be tough..

LMAOOOOOOOO as if the rest of us don’t experience extreme stress from our jobs on top of the stress of being poor 🙄🙄🙄

Hahaha

Yeah - now imagine the stress of those of us who don't know how we're going to make ends meet next month. Imagine the stress of those who have to decide between the basic needs of life like food, heat and medications. CEO Job stress is nothing compared to that.

Did happen to ask Mr Morgan if he had ever gone home to 'literally weep' because he had been groped in his workplace but couldn't speak out about it because it would put his minimum wage job in jeopardy? Asking for a friend

Been proved stress is about how much control you have over your work and in your job. CEOs and bosses overwhelmingly have more security. Workers at the bottom overwhelmingly more stressed.

Yeah, weeping into their piles of cash while stuffing their faces with $2000-a-pint ice cream. Piss off with this bullshit. Their greed drives them to stay, even though they have the money to retire at any time. 🖕🖕🖕

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHHHAHHHHHHHHBBABABbbhHhahhhahahahahahhahahAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHH

🙄🙄🙄 I can't even.

Here's actual footage of a CEO 'weeping' after a stressful day.

BOOFUCKINGHOOO

Yep, crocodile tears....

Well people who have trouble making rent and student loans literally contemplate taking their own lives. The difference is their bills are paid and tears dry.

Oh, wait. What he meant to say is 'literally laughed so hard on his way to the bank he cried!' douchebagshavefeelingstoo

If you don’t weep in private, you might not take your job seriously.

Oh but baby. Nothing to really worry about but weeping over it. Sick of this crap.

Plenty of people who earn a fraction of that 'literally weep' because of the pressure of their jobs. I'm sure earning millions of dollars every year doesn't negate job pressure but at least you can buy yourself some really fancy tissues in a really posh hotel.

Idk how he can say it out loud and then not be ashamed to look at himself in the mirror

I know your job was to control expenses. Did you cry because you knew you had to suppress employee wages below rate of inflation, or retirement and health-care benefits? or found technology to replace people? Oh that's right, you guys get a bonus for doing those things.

Two weeks in on another job our secretary had a stroke. People who had been there 30 years didn't go to the hospital with her. I did and didn't get a full paycheck because I hadn't accrued time. She worked there 30 years and no one gave a damn. I knew then I was in trouble.

I had one job that I used my lunch hour to cry in my car. This was after considering vehicular suicide on the way to work every single day..for more than half of what I was used to making. It exhausted me to act like all was well when it was horrible.

Zero sympathy. I worked a job I had to deal with workplace bullying and worked up to 12hrs a day. If we had sick days, the owner would just say we were 'fluffing it'.That was life at Hudson Meats, Sydney. I never worked in such a stressful place b4, glad I left that hell hole.

I've wept in private after I've helped mothers deliver their stillborn children who never had a chance at survival. If that isn't 'stressful,' I don't know what is. There were no cries, no whimpers, just deafening silence and terrible sadness.

My heart bleeds for you...

You know what made me literally weep? I worked at Citibank and didn't have money for food. Every exec meeting was catered but leftovers had to be thrown out - staff could be fired for eating those leftovers. I had to throw food away when I hadn't eaten, sometimes in days.

Yeah, I'd cry too if I knew I were underpaying hundreds of hard-working individuals so I could have more money that I'll ever need.

I’m willing to bet a $10 M salary takes the edge off. Perhaps take your tears to the .001% who care. Or -better - volunteer 1 day at a hospital, shelter, or any Not-for-Profit. I think the prescription is perspective.

Yeah, yeah, try waiting tables sometime, pal.

Aw poor baby

I'll give them a tissue for two-hundred thousand dollars

Ya know, it doesn’t need to be this way

The founder of my jobs throws trays and pens across the rooms and humiliates my coworkers in front of our patients ... theycry wecry shit we don’t make anywhere near what homeboy makes 😭😂

Gimme a 7-figure job and at least *some* of the tears will be from happiness.

Sounds like someone who never cried in a walk in freezer 😪

Then there’s CEOs like JohnLegere

And yet I feel no sympathy for the CEO.

He can pay some therapist to feel sorry for him, because I'm too poor to spare him any of my meager fucks.

Good

Lol pressure *rolls eyes*

I'm an unemployed single parent, looking for work. I can only weep when my child can't see me, to protect her from our financial reality. (Side note: if you're hiring a tech writer in Minneapolis-St Paul, DM me)

wow making sooo much money is so stressful and such a burden

Tell me more about your paper cut, Mr. Morgan, and, when you're done 'weeping,' how's about I tell you about what it was like to become a homeless single parent, even though I was working 50+ hours a week trying to survive. tears

Usually I have to excuse myself to the bathroom to weep, but today I had the luxury of working from home so I was able to continue working while I silently cried from stress.

'Sometimes it gets so bad that I weep not only in all six of my houses, but on at least three of my yachts.'

As a teacher my mum has literally wept in public

I'm heartbroken. Oh wait, no, sorry, I meant I'm indifferent. In addition to being underpaid, I had to worry about utilities and rent and food, so fight me if I'm fresh out of sympathy for the people responsible for wage stagnation

Everyone has their problems. Everyones cries in the corner sometimes. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE PAID A 15 MILLION DOLLAR BONUS.

Well I am not going to cry for you.

Eat the Rich

That’s literally ridiculous

oh boo fuckin hoo guillotine bait

You’re crying because of the guilt from underpaying employees who work 2 or even 3 jobs just to be able to afford to live.

Poor babies

Pouring one out for the crying CEOs.

lol and the rest of us aren’t under pressure? what about all the jobs where people put their lives on the line, or are responsible for other people’s lives? plus we have to, you know, pay our bills so we can literally have a home and medicine. jesus christ

Stress of some jobs that pay way less cause some people to “literally kill themselves” but do go on

None of the cry babies in the comments could be a good CEO if their life depended on it.

so..you are telling us that we should feel for weeping CEOs..what about the weeping mother who cant feed her child..or buy medicines?..or the guy who can not earn enough to pay rent?..GTFOH with that BS

CEOs be like:

Not everyone gets to wipe the tears away with bills.

Crybaby cry/ stack your money high/ you’re old enough to know better/ so cry baby cry

so does working in a fast food drive thru so what

Boo hoo hoo. Tell that to the people who are dying because they can’t afford their insulin, or are sleeping in cars while those whiny, crybaby CEOs weep into their piles of money and never have to worry about surviving day to day. Don’t you DARE legitimize these sociopaths!

He should try and teach children. They weep in class openly.

But is he going to set an example? Probably not.

My heart bleeds

That's a load of shit right there. You don't know stress until you add a thousand interweaving concerns over your family's physical and financial survival.

Boo-fucking-hoo

Boo hoo

boo fuckin hoo, i have to worry about living in my car again daily but go off

Oh you poor thing. Come back to me when you're on £75 a week and then I might have some sympathy

This is a “let them eat cake” moment. And it doesn’t make him seem relatable. We all cry a lot more, while making a lot less money. Stress is subjective and people making a lot less money are typically more stressed than people who don’t worry about money all the time.

While I do think some CEOs are probably overpaid, most of us couldn’t handle such a job. Most of cry because you have to work 8-10 hours a day. Imagine working 16-17 hours a day building a company and having to also manage a home life with a family. There’s levels to this shit.

Yeah. No one low paid has so much stress they weep in private. Usually we’re so stressed out it comes bubbling out in the lift or the supermarket. Poor little rich CEO feels hard done by. Let me get my violin out.

Yeah but who gives a shit

I hate all CEOs.

My boss told me to apply for food stamps.

I used to cry every morning on my way to my job that paid $27k/year. I’ve got no sympathy.

boo fuckin hoo

AHAHAHAHA I MAKE 11 AN HOUR AND SOB RELENTLESSLY

What a complete see you next Tuesday

The pressure of a fucking lot of jobs can cause weeping and then some. Then we go home to the pressure of bills than can barely be paid by our wages. Just further demonstrating how fucking out of touch the 1% really are. 😑🙄 cryharder

I haven’t felt alive in 3 years and make $14 an hour, can I at least make millions while not feeling alive?

*stares in guillotine*

My full time job doesn't even pay a living salary and I weep every second week from stress

Oh no man don’t go THERE

Good thing they have all that money to dry their weeping eyes with. All the rest of us who cry because of stress at work just have to use our sleeves like a bunch of peasants.

Never forget when my supervisor at garment factory told me how to figure my quota card, she told me I needed to pick up the pace, said I had done about 1.70 (that is not a typo) worth if work in 8 hours. Cried all the way home

Now try doing it on an empty stomach, with little sleep and still trying to manage a household and make sure your kid is doing well in school. And deal with special needs of your child. And health needs for yourself. On $8/hour.

You cut the word “jets” off the end of your tweet

It’s people weeping who make a fraction of that. I don’t have sympathy for rich white men with millions.

I work in community mental health working with severely ill and disadvantaged people. I literally weep weekly. Sometimes daily for certain stretches. I make less than $40k/yr.

Poor babies

I get a daily panic attack worrying whether i have work tomorrow or not.

Who gives a shit?

Crime me a river.

I don’t know exactly what he’s making, but I bet I’d cry on a live stream for his salary

I can understand crying from stress but I kist feel like if you're literally rolling in money it's not equal to ppl who are crying from stress and broke

Don't like your job get a new one. Don't cry like a child. -the world

Sorry your job causes you stress, luckily the money is worth it. -An unpaid volunteer from an all volunteer station.

Boo fucking woo

Oh boo hoo. Poor babies. What they forget is all of the crap they need to manage that they just get to pay others to do. Child care, transportation, home maintenance and repair... etc. Something broke? Better learn how to fix it yourself because you can't afford to hire someone.

& all they have to wipe their weeping eyes are £50 notes 🙄

Try being poor

I've has people shit on me, attack me, bite me, curse at me, and die in my fucking arms and I made under 30k last year. There was a point in time where I cried daily on my way home back from work. And I stay there because I love my job. Y'all can get over yourselves 🙄

Didums! Try living on the streets with no food, shelter or money you twat! Are we supposed to fee sorry for you because your diamond shoes are too tight and your wallets too small to fit £50 notes in! (Yes I stole the line from ‘friends’ but it’s so appropriate for this clown)

Work a day in childcare then get back to me

Pay me that much and I will weep in public if you want.

being a millionaire is a hard life

Boo fucking hoo!

Oh FFS

Yeah, that's not that uncommon. I'm a big cry baby, and I haven't cried from a job, but I know plenty of tougher people that do! They also have to worry about the stress of finances when they leave work though. At least a CEO knows they can afford food.

Poor millionaires 😥😥😥😥

I guess if the stress is too much they could quit after a year and retire with their millions.

Says a man who probably has never had to work through an injury or illness. Bet he’s never had to ration necessities like food, heat or gasoline to pay a bill. Or lived in a car because you couldn’t scrape together enough for a security deposit on the crummiest efficiency.

I’ve broken down and cried multiple times because of everything I went through serving in the military. Please, do enlighten me about the pressures of being a CEO with millions of dollars and a board of directors to help run the company for them.

Yeah poor people don't get stressed out at all

This social worker would really like to punch David Morgan in the face.

Weeping all the way to the bank.

Imagine crying about a job that pays you an insane amount of money while others who have to go around parking lots and shopping centers and pick up trash for far less but being happy with that job?

You know who else 'literally weep'? People who can't get health coverage.

I've heard teachers 'literally weep' not just over the lousy pay, but over their working conditions too.

People trying to provide for their families on minimum wage 'literally weep' in private too.

I cry all the time because I’m under paid. No one cares. Quityabitchin & your golden parachute.

Then they need in work mental health support. The issue is not one of pay ( or financial envy ) it’s how to rationalise the work and it’s effects on you. At every level.

Eat the Rich.

2 cents - That weeping is their conscience trying to speak up against the immoralities of an unregulated broken system that they have to adhere to. Maybe they can join the workers one day and actually fight back against the system to help fix it.

that's really sad. we should help relieve them of some of that pressure

I have weeped in private and I wasn't being ridiculous overpaid for it

They weep because that $200M Seven Seas yacht remains frustratingly out of reach on their $10M salary.

Quick, someone find the world’s smallest violin!

Ahhh yes.... Hamptons or Maui Rolls or Bentley Golf or Deep Sea Fishing Pardon me as I try to decompress

In the last year, I hosted meetings while throwing up from morning sickness. I took calls from the hospital when I was in preterm labor. My productivity was up for the year and I still wasn’t paid for my leave. I was repeatedly told I was “lucky”. I wept a lot.

They’ll weep in public when they are about to be executed. pastisprologue

We must turn the tide against the rich

They can afford to quit any day they want, imagine this level of emotional stress x1000 because it is financially impossible to leave your job

Like the single mom I know that wept because two jobs wasn’t enough to pay the bills after hours were cut at primary job. Only different because the pressure on her is real.

who fucking cares

My guess is they're not crying enough to justify their insanely overblown salaries, then.

I mean if you pay them a bit less maybe it will lower the pressure...

Miss me with this. I have “literally wept” in public from the stress of working 3 part-time jobs/80 hours per week and still not making enough to get ahead.

then quit? unlike low income workers you can afford not to have your stressful job

The real stress comes from deciding between the yacht with the helipad and the yacht with the attached submarine. Not which to buy, you can afford both. Which to dock at your private island vs the mainland. Man's eternal struggle.

Shit, the pressures of my job and life cause me to literally weep in private, can I get a million?

It's true. I have pictures.

Oh, gee. That must be tough. I would spare a minute to weep for you, but I can't find a free one in my 70 hour work week when my free time is spent trying to figure out how to make up the last $500 I need for rent.

yikes that is awful it sounds like in addition to reducing their pay we should also strip boards of their fiduciary responsibilities so they aren’t under so much pressure

I thought this was from the Onion.

Just quit then. Not like you need more money. Problem solved. Most people don't have that luxury.

You should have thought twice before saying this.

It must be so awful having to wipe your tears with freshly minted $100 bills.

Y’all these replies....we think money will make us happy once we have it but depression don’t care about no income....we all can hurt

i wonder how that make's their flesh taste? better, probably?

🎻 allow me to play this tiny violin for them.

Rich guy wants sympathy for other rich guys for being rich

I cried three times on Wednesday because I’m paid a dollar above min wage to assist all day in an elementary class where 1/4 the class needs special attentions but the support comes sporadically for maybe two hours in a six hour day. We all cried.

Thats right, cry and weep.

are higher-ups not allowed to experience stress or something?

That’s not how the word literally works, he literally used it wrong

One way to relieve them of that 'stress' is stop paying them so much.

If they cry in public we'll allow them being overpaid

So, ridiculously overpaid and ridiculously out of touch.

I’m a teacher; crying and low wages are practically in my job description.

Australia's rich colonizers are in possession of stolen property. They've gone unchecked like the USA, & it's gone to their heads.

FuqThatGuy

Yeah. None of those ER doctors ever weep either, making 2% of the Jetstream class

yeah, no shit. “Executive Compensation” is just a simple bribe, to get CEO’s interest aligned with owners rather than employees.

Ask cops, paramedics, firefighters etc. about stress...

I cried at my 20-cents-over-min job and was told by my manager to clean up and get back to work ASAP because I had already taken my break and being yelled at by customers because of our inventory/stock was 'part of the job'

And Morgan wept, for there was no more pity to garner

I wept when I read 'overpaid'

If they don’t feel up to it they could always quit? It’s not a prison.

All I can say to this is 'Bite me'. I've literally wept from stress at EVERY job I've ever had. And I've never made more than $25,000 a year. And I started working at 12. At least THEY can afford to walk away from their jobs. I never could.

Awe, so when I was openly weeping because I can't afford healthcare it was like we were experiencing the same thing! Except you know, you can afford healthcare...

So, when rich people do it, it's proof of their hard work. When poor people do it, it's just gross.

CEOs don’t do any actual labor, and anyway they can afford therapy

“Weeping” all the way to their offshore tax havens.

I’d love to be paid 3x my current salary to be just as stressed out.

good to see emotional labor respected by the media class... so teachers should make like 5x as much, yeah? what about nurses? firefighters? fast food is time sensitive and is very stressful. they deserve more, yeah?

😢🤧Then their greed kicks in.🤑💵

I'm coining a term here. Bouge Hoo.

Any tears for these poor, suffering, overpaid CEOs? smartbrain deepquest baconbkk thaipirate

theladymf wow can you imagine such bravery?

Sorry I can't feel bad for any CEO.

My bad, I really never knew that rich white people were having such a hard time. Please give me a call, I accept all major insurances, cash and credit. We can work out a payment plan that will fit CEO's needs. I have some available openings this week.

Oh dear. Well, at least they’re well compensated for their weeping. So many people have stressful jobs and get paid shit. So guess I’ll reserve my sympathy for those who deserve it.

Bruh. Who hasn’t wept about their job, at their job, for their job? At least the CEOs get to wipe their tears with a Centurión card while vacationing in the tropics.

Stack shelves for minimum wage instead then. At least you’ll have something to cry about then

cry more

Like no one in any other job has ever wept in private before...

Better to cry in a Lamborghini than to cry over whether or not you can feed your kids.

Here’s the sympathy they get from me

I managed a pizza kitchen for 9 years for 7.5-11/hour and zero benefits while dragging my depressed and ill self through college, I have wept repeatedly from stress. Must be nice to also be paid enough to afford a doctor while you're doing so.

Is he bucking to be Schultz’s veep with this bullshit? Ohhh the poor billionaires. 🙄🙄🙄

Yeah lol I cried at work the other day and i make minimum, ceos ain't special

He'd be amazed to know that poor people also sometimes cry in private.

Boo boo jump off a bridge :(

He should try being a teacher and doing it for peanuts.

good

The problem is not just pay; it is the evil culture that permeates the banks - due to governance failures at board / senior management level, poor supervision, letting investment bankers too close to senior management roles and large shareholder demands on boards for returns

CEOs weep in private, while their minimum wage workers starve in public. Somebody get Mr. Morgan a tissue

“I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping...while My CEO gently weeps...”

Weeping all the way to the bank.

Boohoo little rich boy

I just came for the comments. Thanks tweeps, you didn’t disappoint 🙌🏻

BOO fucking HOO

When I cried volunteering I was told to not to come in the next day, I was encouraged to either plough through my emotions or quit for the greater good, I wasn't given any pay or pay increase or the special pat on the back these whiny leeches crave.

All those CEOs weeping:

Why is it anyone's business what someone else earns and who are you to tell them they're undeserving of their income? Maybe if you focused on creating your own successes instead of fixating on the success of others you'd actually get somewhere in life

Well that changes everything!

Poor people cry on the job too because of all the abuse they put up with from customers and superiors. But they don't get paid millions of dollars.

That's a strange way to simply say: CEOs are ridiculously overpaid and can't handle the demands of their job.

Aww how cute. Ive customers call me horrible things & have to hold in my rage instead of telling em to FUCK RIGHT OFF.

Sorry, but as a nurse I have been known to run into the cupboard and cry from stress for less than £30k a year. Cry me a fucking river.

If you haven’t got something sensible to say best to not speak. Ordinary folk who keep this country going are the ones that are weeping publicly .

Try the pressure of making ends meet while also having to focus on a job. Dimwit

This guy, weeping: God I am so fucking rich

So sad.

Like I get that. Being responsible for literally hundreds of people and trying to steer something as inhuman and eldrich as a corporation is stressful as Hell. But... fuck you, dude. You don't think your workers that could use extra money to survive cry because of stress?

My heart bleeds. I know many teachers who are ridiculously underpaid and also weep with the pressures of their jobs...

Those poor people! Must be hard paying people minimum wage whilst you swipe all the profits.

Yes it is ridiculous

I’ll do it you pussy

Actually I do get what he means. I was an MD for many years earning good money but the stress was incredible - too much. I’m in a lower position now and happier

Absolutely f*****g clueless.

Ignorant to the lives of common people such that the backlash to his comments probably surprises him. His bank ripped people dry mercilessly. I have no empathy for this man.

Can't he pay someone to weep for him...... tightarse

(🎻)🔬

I too would weep with Glee if got paid $30m a year. Stress. What about nurses, police, disability carers, list goes on.

I've seen cleaners weep with stress and exhaustion, never mind nurses and carers and people stacking supermarket shelves at night.

This fucker couldn't make it through one busy dishwashing shift.

😂 😂 😂

Oh, no no no, this is unconscionable! They should be dragged out in front of everyone so we can watch them weep in public, then appropriately mock them, given their circumstances.

Crying on or about the job is a failure of management and support and is not related to the pay you receive.

Always the victims

thoughtsandprayers to all CEO’s

T&p🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

i feel so sorry for him. as i was required to work 2 unpaid internships, most times working 50-60 hours a week, treating patients in a psychiatric setting in order to get my social work license, i also weeped and lived off of the Wendy’s 4 for $4.

I imagined them doing this:

Is that because they Pell on Sunday?

But, you don't need that job to pay your bills and have food on your table and go to the doctor. You can retire. What about the people who cry then go back the next day for the next 50 years because it's the only way they can earn a meager living? The people who will never retire

Cry you mofucka. Wipe it with that blood money

Maybe this'll stop the weeping.

Cry me a river

I have pressure in my job and weep daily...

pookietooth Sometimes I cry because I’m 57 and realize I will never be able to afford to retire. I will work until Idie.

I’m curious though. I completely agree with you all. But I do have one question. If you opened up a business and it went successful and you became a millionaire because of your own accomplishments. Would you be mad if your employees made x amount of money?

Try being an emergency service worker.

🎻

Your pay doesn't equal to how your mental state is. Some people who are famous and horribly depressed and some people who don't get paid at all are horribly depressed. It still doesn't excuse the fact that you're being paid way too much 👋

I used to make less than minimum wage and our staff would regularly break down into tears because of idiotic management and shitty customers

Try weeping when two jobs can't feed your family. Then go die in a hole somewhere.

Cry me a river, you fucking parasites

Oh you make me sympathize with them so much. Making millions and millions even if they do a shitty job and get fired they still rake in millions, it's a win win!

I would punch a crying ceo 10/10

Unfortunately the rest of us don't have corner offices and executive toilets to do our weeping 'in private'.

Weeping in public, in private, commuting from job 1 to job 2, at the pawn shop, in your sleep....yah this guy can go stuff himself.

That's nice. Don't care.

I burst in tears in the middle of a shift once at a job where I was making $7.50/hr so... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I've got the cure for that: work as the lowest paid employee on your payroll. Try to find housing and healthcare and deal with familial responsibilities, then tell us how stressful it is to be fabulously wealthy.

Boo hoo

Have had a boss thank employees who make $40k or less for their hard work that gave him his historically high bonus. Acknowledged no work done by him. Except the money he saved the company by taking away our bonuses.

So.. they feel like teachers.

These tosspots love to pretend that their experience is somehow worse or more painful, and thereby deserving of the obscene pay. They genuinely believe it, because they have not one clue what *actual* work is like.

Good.

I have six years of job experience, get paid WAY under a CEO salary, and still weep in private, but also in public... CEOs, count your blessings... or your cash.

Guess what, asshole, teachers, nurses, firefighters, etc. secretly cry in private from the pressure. We have peoples’ lives and futures in our hands. What we do REALLY matters. Our pressure is real!

Imagine how they'd weep if they got a regular paycheck...

The crocodiles called. They want their tears back.

Being rich is so fucking hard. I cried twice this last week and I'm *checks cue cards* unemployed

i have cried for $9 multiple times around my coworkers... thank u starbucks

I'm so sad for you. Can we set up a GoFuckYourself campaign for you?

Until they weep in public, and wear sackcloth and ashes, I do not gaf.

Will I lay off enough people to get my bonus and options?

Boo effing Hoo

No one cares.

i once took a crap at work and was semi constipated; i too nearly weeped in the privacy of my thrones stall.

Maybe hire some single black mothers to be CEOs. They’ll get the job done w/o the self-pity bullshit.

I want to stomp on his balls.

I can relate. It hurts diving into my kiddie pool of pennies.

CEOs are also inclined to need spankings to even out their self hate.

I've had minimum wage jobs that have been stressful enough to cause me to 'literally weep' in public, as has everyone who has ever worked in the service industry.

Poor diddums, my heart bleeds for you.

They should try being a property manager.

They’re weeping because they don’t want to lose that ridiculous comp package. That’s the sole source of their stress.

k get over it? :/

they should cry more

Here for this ratio 😂

i hope he literally weeps while he's lined up against the fucking wall

Like the employees, on whose back the company succeeds, don’t cry over the pressure to maintain their own lives.

Makes me so sad

Maybe they should learn how to delegate better to capable people.

Go ask any server who makes $7.25 an hour how often they’ve cried in the walk in cooler

'literally weep' in private planes and yachts.

Ya so does everyone. They likely have less pressure because after 1 year they have made more than most people will in there lives. They can break down and quit and be set.

Try working as an adjunct for less than minimum wage. Maybe then people would feel sympathetic. But this? Not so much.

Good.

I know people who have daily panic attacks at their job who can't afford rent let alone make enough to even consider mental healthcare. CEOs deserve to be thrown out in the streets.

As a lowly gas station attendent, I hope that people everywhere find happiness in whatever situation they find themselves.

I have a solution to their problems

Hello I’m a bartender and I weep at work at least twice a week, funny how stressed you get when you can’t pay your bills and your income is based on the whims of customers

I'd cry too if i made billions, because I would actually be out of debt, afford a house, afford a future... I could go on...

Social work case management for the win!

Poor things 😔

I weep in private for free. Pull the other one

My heart aches for their pain. So many struggles, so much pressure... Maybe we start a GoFundMe? How can we help these poor people? (Sarcasm font)

The out of touch rich make me sick sometimes. Try weeping because you're stuck in an awful job in a terrible job market with abusive customers while your job doesn't pay you a living wage to support your family.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 CEOs are barely even human, let alone capable of emotions besides greed.

They should sob in public.

Oh how I weep for you. But when YOU weep, do you wipe away the tears with gold-embroided silk hankies, or hundred dollar bills?

Crying all the way to . . . Oh, he's already there.

First job in my new city out of college: $9 an hour. Cried at the coffee shop down the street on my lunch break. Could not get out of there fast enough.

if the pressure is too much i know a nice place you can lay your sweet head

My coworkers weep because they can't afford bills or rent on a stingy 9 hours a week. Get lost lmao

i cry in the bathroom at work for less, y’all aren’t special

He should try being a nurse or nurses aide (because god damn do they work hard) for a week. Actually, just a day.

I made 60k at my highest and had to get a therapist and go on antidepressants. Where’s my million dollar salary?

I have a different idea for these weepy CEOs.

Awwwwwwwwww

CEO: The pressure of having to do virtually nothing, make my own hours and continue making millions is so hard! Worker: I don’t know if I can afford to eat this month.

The CEO's are so out of touch. why would you even say that

No that's normal for everyone

Crying crocodile tears all the way to the bank 🐊💦

Oh no! Won't anyone think of the billionaires!? 💔

When a worker loses their job they end up homeless. When a ceo loses their job they are hired as a consultant by their other ceo friend

oh, y'all gonna literally weep

This current narrative of rich people trying to get the rest of us to feel sorry for them makes me ill. How many of us have literally cried ourselves to sleep without the giant monetary safety net these asshole have?

Tears of fekan gold...

...and mopping their eyes with fifties

David was a great CEO at Westpac and then Bank of Qld. I had the pleasure of dealing with him numerous times when I was at Westpac and he knew his “shit” and was a breath of fresh air compared to previous “old school” CEO’s. Listened to those at the coal face 👍👍

The rest of us just weep in public because it’s not our assigned break time.

I weep alone. Woe is David.

TFW your workers can’t weep in private because you have an open office, 2 minutes for bathroom breaks, and pay so little they all share housing.

This guy needs to work an 8 hr drive thru shift at a fast food restaurant for minimum wage. He wouldn't last a half day!

If I made half of what some of these CEO's made, I'd have a lot less to weep about. You don't need a CEO's salary to lose your shit over your job; minimum wage fast food will do that for you.

They should end it

Try being a medical receptionist dealing with the phones, patients, doctors et al, with no time for a toilet break. Now, THAT'S a stressful job!

So if I cry at work will you write an article about how I deserve a billion dollars? ty

My eyes are watering already. Please hand over the cash. 😂

There are many living in poverty who literally weep in private. Often because they can't afford accommodation, food, education, for themselves and their families. Are we supposed to feel for him?

Oh, boo fucking hoo. And what about millions of people who are ridiculously underpaid yet the pressure of the job still cause them to 'literally weep' too?

Everybody giving this guy grief for weeping over pressure needs to realize what it means to run a business. Your mistakes hurt your employees, customers and vendors (ie the people you care most about). All a good CEO wants to do is serve those people

Y'all are never gonna make me feel sorry for millionaires.

Try being a teacher. You get paid less, and the students make you literally weep, but in public.

These crybaby snowflakes have no idea what real work is like.

I was payed bare minimum to clean up biohazardous waste (blood, vomit, poo, you name it) and was put in situations where I had to wear hazmat gowns. I'd cry in the utility closet during break, it was God awful....

I have cried at multiple minimum wage jobs, usually in the loos because there is no office to retreat to for retail and hospitality staff, I'm a bargain!

No one gives a fuck.

Im playing the world's smallest violin and it costs R&D 2 billion dollars to make it

Then fucking retire.

I'm 100% serious. No irony. Let's build a bunch of guillotines. Let's grab a bunch of rifles. Let's grab a bunch of molotov cocktails. Let's kill the superrich. It's time to put down the oligarchy. No gods, no kings, no masters.

Know who weeps far more? People who have stressful jobs and aren't ridiculously overpaid. Like, ALL OF THE REST OF US. Know who weeps more? The CEOs workers whose productivity he exploits for his ridiculous pay. Know who weeps more? Me reading inane things like this.

there are decaying alpha particles larger than the violin i’m currently playing

He needs to chat to a nurse, police officer or a teacher.

I'll give him something to cry about.

Yeah, well I'd rather cry in a Bentley than a Yugo

I've literally wept from the stress of my job. The difference is that CEOs go home with more money than they can spend in 100 lifetimes, whereas I sometimes go home have to decide which bills I'm going to be late on this month if I want to afford food. So CEOs of the world...

They think that's stressful? Imagine being one of the employees working 10 hrs of unpaid OT while also picking up the kids, caring for an ill parent, and Ubering on the side to pay rent.

Then don’t accept a job you can’t handle.

don’t worry. we’ll give them something to cry about.

I promise you cry a lot more at $7.25

22dsmith must be hard wiping away those tears with excess income.

What's with all the jobs that make you cry? Tragic.

Have you ever waited tables?

Ridiculously overpaid? Yes. Stressed? Still yes! Can we not gatekeep stress please!

People who wait tables weep in private too, because they’re not being paid a living wage. But, sure, let’s all pretend it’s terrible to be a multimillionaire. GTFOOH

I work in IT where people break down in public from the pressure regularly. David Morgan is not special, he does not work uniquely hard and his salary is utterly unjustified.

I literally weeped in private the whole time I was working in childcare

Money buys options... I wept way too many times on an income that had no extra for counseling....

Probably guilt over all their money knowing they do sweet FA.

Seajay603 u think those ridiculously underpaid workers don't weep? in terror? not only of the pressures of the job, but not having enough for basics. let alone the yacht CEO's can escape it all for a week, or two. or dinner out every night at the finest.

Who doesn’t cry at work? 🤷‍♀️

Happy weeping over the cash filling their accounts? GTFOH.

pity the rich white man

They don’t have to do the job if it causes them such heartache. I wonder why they stay?

.Westpac My heart bleeds for David Morgan. Well, it might after he walks into the ocean about 40 miles.

$1k an hour for CEOs to cry on my shoulder. Inquire within. :)

I’ve had panic attacks and wept on minimum wage. Cry me a river

Damn feeling a startling lack of empathy for people who can literally drive their company into the ground and walk away with millions while their employees get no warning they need to job hunt

I might literally weep if someone doesn't beat the shit out of this dude

Got plenty of dollar bills to wipe them tears, they'll be fine

I would expect there are many people who have lowly pay, but stressful employment would weep in private; not just the vastly overpaid CEOs.

we all cry at work bae

That's sad Dave... now add the crushing fear that you might not be able to pay your next rent... how does that feel? The difference you have is that you can walk away anytime...

He should try being a teacher

Most of us just weep on payday.

The poor dears. 🙄

He should let BoH know how sad he is

Well if it's too much pressure, they should resign and give away all their money.

AGAIN. WE KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE YOU WEEP FOR THE EVIL YOU HAVE DONE

lmaoooo

Everybody literally weeps at their jobs.

We've all been broken by jobs where we weren't 'ridiculously overpaid' but more than that, these MBA buffoons are terrible at their jobs. Statistically, the more a CEO is paid, the worse his performance.

Here's ACTUAL footage of one of those CEO's crying in secret /s

What an ass!

Due to the fact of what they do. WAKEUPAMERICA PEDOGATE PEDOWOOD PIZZAGATE QANON YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR CRIMES

Well bless his dear little heart!

Give me a fucking break. I was a single mom of 3 going to school and working. I wrote the book on crying in private. SMDH. nosympathy

lol We're coming for our money, fuckers. Hand it over and the gated neighborhoods stay standing.

I remember my mom crying as a single parent trying to raise me on a teacher’s salary.

I know mothers of small children who weep alone every day....

So they weep in private. I was a social worker and wept too. For my clients, not for myself.

Quit.

We all cry. I'm sure the underpaid workers would cry a bit less if you throw them a bone and give them what they earn.

Fuck your tears. I've literally cried because a super rich CEO decided to lay everyone off from their 24K a year jobs to appease super-rich shareholders, and I had no idea how I'd be able to provide for my family. You get no sympathy from me.

Tell someone who gives a shit!

Heaven help him if he should have to do some real work! I challenge him to do a single shift of nursing and then try to sustain his assertion. He doesn't know what stress is!

If their weeping maybe it's actually because they want MORE FUCKING MONEY Aand someone actually said no Has nothing to do with stress or pressure I mean if they are fired they will get a 9 digit severance anyway

Me frantically eating chipotle so I can give a shit

oh no think of the poor billionaires *sniff*

Sometimes I’ve cried because I’m so hungry after paying rent

Then do it once and retire, wahbaby.

Oh who cares. If it hurts them so bad, they can quit their cushy jobs, give all that stolen wealth away, and then jump in a drainage ditch

The poor dear.

We all cry David get over yourself

Must be nice having the option to cash out and never need to work another day though. 5 million would pay me enough to never work again on what I earn now.

most poor people cry due to the stress of work, in addition to worrying about how they will ration their money in the case of an emergency, whereas 'ridiculously overpaid' CEOs won't ever have to worry about that.

Of course, folks of lesser means never get stressed or overwhelmed with jobs and life. And - of course - never feel stress or despair that their hard work and diligence is underpaid. /s in case you could not tell

You know what also make you weep? You and your family starving because asshole CEOs won’t pay you a livable wage. Poor millionaires. Life’s just so damn hard, isn’t it?

But CEOs aren't crying over whether they can make rent AND their next insulin purchase you selfish hack

I feel so bad for the tears these CEOs shed while making millions, often destroying a company and then getting paid millions more to leave

We should help him. Take all the pressure of him by taking his I'll gotten money.

I know lots of teachers who are wildly underpaid & the stress of the job causes them to weep in private, yet they're never interviewed by reporters 🤔

Can I cry for some of that 💰 too?😹

They just keep shoveling bullshit hoping no one will call them out on it.

Dude - stressful work of any kind at any pay rate can do that.

More like, laughing all the way to the bank..

B-O-O H-O-O

Boo freaking hoo

I cry at least once a week at work. I help see the elderly in my care to the end of their lives.

Ok so the money can't buy their happiness better give it to people who need to to survive and thrive.

Cry into a toilet you’re cleaning for $9/hr then we’ll talk

They should quit their jobs. Sounds like it's too much for them.

If tears are an indication of salary, I need a raise.

Leeches cry too. Imagine people who aren't allowed to leech.

With all the money they make, they can afford to wipe away their tears with $100 dollar bills. As if. 🙄

Weird. We weep at work when we're underpaid, too.

for the ridiculous amounts these pigs get paid, having the luxury of crying in private seems too easy

I seriously doubt dragons are capable of emotions other than greed

I can't understand how. Most of them could quit anytime they want and never have a single financial worry in their lives. Must be nice.

We don't make CEOs weep enough IMO

A out of touch! Egotistical! Prick! Trying to justify having a multimillion dollar salary, receiving millions in bonuses, b/c it can be stressful and you weep. “Ridiculously underpaid” exhausted, hungry, barely making bills, check to check, individuals, are stressed and weeping!

I remember working as a hotel maid, getting paid seven dollars an hour, and 'literally weeping' when hotel guests left me trashed rooms. Some of those guests may have been CEO's! Who knows!

oh FFS.

🖐🏻

I prefer human to human interaction at stores or on the phone so if we are going to automate any jobs it should be CEO jobs because they are completely useless! That way they can weep in private in any one of their homes🙄

He can die

this is literally one of the stupidest things i’ve ever seen what would he be weeping about the entire company could go bankrupt and he’d still be thriving...

the difference is they can dry their tears w millions of dollars made on the backs of ppl making many thousand times less

As opposed to underpaid employees, weeping over the pressure of trying to feed their kids

I’m pretty sure every American cries from the stress of their job. The pace of life here is insane

Ridiculously underpaid me is having panic attack in the bathroom then 5 minutes later having to go back at the cash

lol good

this went over the heads of everyone. instead of being angry and complaining provide actual ideas to replace the current structure of buisnesses and corporate leadership.

Christ imagine having three cleaning jobs and struggling to afford the bus to work, ey?

'If you think being rich is stressful, wait until you hear about being poor!'

You don't HAVE to accept the money. You were on $10M. Take $1M instead. Thus if Westpac had 90K workers, they'd each get $100 extra a week. Seems reasonable You wouldn't have to blubber at all and you'd still have heaps of money.

Oh the poor little angels

I have 'literally wept' over dead friends at a job that required us to put our lives on the line for the country. I have also literally wept while being a SAHM that doesn't see a single paycheck for all the work you do or the pressure you get put under. But poor you, CEOs.

I could retire and live comfortably for the rest of my life on 1.4 million. I have zero sympathy for them.

Cry harder. Those on the poverty line can't hear you over their crippling debt.

Lol I wept while making $2.13/hr as a server after being berated by some guy with Napoleon syndrome, but go on about how rough CEOs have it wiping away their tears with hundred dollar bills lmao.

I’ve literally wept because of VOLUNTEER jobs

The hate against CEOs/owners of companies is ridiculous. Some live lavish lifestyles, but majority busted their ass & worked hard to get there. My stepdad is VP of a company & I've seen the stress that job has on him. Guarantee alot of you couldn't do their job without cracking.

This is incredibly insulting

Remember that time the WSJ tried to get us to sympathize with Wall Street by posting the '55 hour work week' infographic that included time for personal appointments and exercise?

literally weep into the millions of dollars they still get if they completely fuck up

Who gives a fuck?

Wow must be hard having no material concerns in life 🙄

We weep in private at how little we get paid to handle so much stress.

We all weep in private, David.

OH NO IM WEEPING IN PRIVATE IN MY LAMBO FEEL BAD FOR ME SO I CAN GO PLAY GOLF AND PAY PEOPLE SLAVE WAGES IN PEACE

Adorable. It was a right of passage for shitty, rich, entitled assholes to make the new cashiers cry for the first time. And then we had to go home knowing we didn’t get paid enough to meet our basic needs. But yeah, CEOs have it so hard.

The same people saying money doesn't buy happiness are the same ones attack rich people for having feelings lol

Ha wow the affluent also have feelings maybe? What was the point

Just get a better job then.

Lol I’ve weeped in front of customers on a few occasions

I've cried at my desk and the toilets due to the pressure of my job. I earn £10k a year.

So suck it up like everyone else does....

I'm not gonna feel sorry for ridiculously overpaid people having a stressful job

Yeah. The pressures of tons of jobs causes them to cry. You ever had a boss publicly eviscerate you for their mistake?

Ya n probably use money to wipe those tears away

I was a cashier and a guy with raging pneumonia came to buy stuff. He hacked everywhere and I got in trouble for shutting down the register to sanitize everything for the next customers. Boo frickin hoo

I know a good stress relief method

Once you have a couple million in the bank, you have the option of quitting and never working another day in your life. The middle class don't have that option; they must either toil or die. These people are only stressed about maintaining their power.

jump off a building instead

they could quit and never work another day in their lives with the kind of money they accumulate in a single year their employees have more stress, work longer hours, and are paid orders of magnitide less money, yet never writes articles about how sad it is when THEY cry

Imagine if they had to work for a living

i cry at least once a week at school and i’m paying them

When my brother, Bilo, was mangled to death by warehouse machinery, he cried. But, Jeff Bezos didn't weep for Bilo. Even when Bilo alive, he only paid $12.50/hr in warehouse where he died.

Oh David Morgan, CEO’s are one of the rare jobs like Football managers where you get paid off if you fail and get fired. My heart bleeds for you.

I don't care.

I have limited sympathy for people who choose to stay in a stressful job to make more money, when they 'earn' enough in a week to retire for life. Whining about it turns the limited sympathy to active dislike.

Good

Understandable anger from those weeping probably more regularly for 1/1000th of the reimbursement. But a pertinent point: this system works for nobody at all. Enter socialism.

when things go badly for a ceo they just blame the workers and the customers and then cash out on a golden parachute for a new grift though

Keep crying, fucko

Last week I openly cried at work because I had a panic attack. I’m a nurse. I don’t know a single nurse who hasn’t cried because of their work. Shut the fuck up. Every job has pressure. Imagine all that pressure and then not having food at home bc you chose to pay rent. Dumbass.

I would hope they're crying constantly. They're pieces of shit I wanna see them suffer. Do they hold their blankie while they cry too? I like this journalism stuff

I bet I would not weep if I had this job. I would bet that if you give me 1 yr to learn the ropes I can out preform any CEO. Its all just a game of power, if your weeping you are going to crack soon.

I've seen people cry in both retail and fast food, are you suggesting they should be making several million to several billion more dollars?

You could literally bomb out, get fired, ans be set for life... there is no pressure. You could quit and be set for life many times. So don’t give me the pressure thing.

Damn. Imagine if their job was difficult and terrible and they still couldn't make rent. I bet that would be bad

Won't somebody think of the billionaires?

Awwww. *snif* MedicareForAll

I got $5 in my account for the next week and have wanted to kill myself since August but can't afford to see a psychologist but I'm sure *checks notes* earning extreme wealth while fucking over your workers is hard too.

“literally weep”

gulag the fucking lot of them

This is when you literally don’t interview them and just escort them to your fist

I also burst into tears when I find out I can only afford six mansions this year.

I work full time and got paid yesterday. Unexpected car repair today, plus this month’s house payment, is taking all but $6. Am I weeping? No. I’m too busy rolling my loose change so I don’t starve before my next check comes in two weeks.

Lol make them weep in public to EARN THEIR OVERINFLATED WAGES THEN.

What a pig!

The pressure of my job makes me weep for a huge amount less. But I recognize that there are people whose jobs make them weep for way less than mine.

The model is clearly wrong. Short term performance based bonus’s should never happen again

Sec. Getting my violin, it’s the world’s smallest

Note to any company that has this problem: I will weep and bemoan my life IN PUBLIC for 1/10th of what these guys make. If you aren't lying about the expense of employees, hire me. Otherwise you are frauds.

I cry at my job al the time and I make $2.13 an hour

Pay them what they're really worth, and they'd just like the 99%

Give me a fucking break

Lol do they not think that low paid workers weep bc of their jobs? Do they literally not even talk to managers at their own companies? Sigh.

Show me one person who hasn’t ~literally wept at their job.

I literally weep in public making $9.20 an hour

good

Some workers have to skip meals, as do their children, so cry me a god damn river

More perpetuation of the myth that CEOs and investors work hard

Hm. Maybe workers should be calling the shots if it's too much for y'all.

Everything at my job has a catch, you want more money, book more appointments-but only get incentive if they show; if someone reschedules your appointment, you lose it. I try not to go to the bathroom. I would work through lunch if I could. Haven’t had a review in 2 years. 🖕🏻

😡😡😡

😂😂😂

well theres an easy way to fix that: dont be a ceo

He should work in their call centres or branches, then he will have a legitimate reason to cry

ah yes, the intense pressure of delegating work to others while being able to quit at any time and have enough money so that neither you, your children or grandchildren ever have to work another day in their life. CEO is the Dark Souls of jobs... fkn thoughts and prayers. 😭

Soak up those tears with some benjis my guy

Excuse me while I burn the world's smallest violin, because I'm not even willing to play that for him

loloolooololloloollo i saw a dudes hand get crushed in a granulator and a dude get sliced up by a roll of sheet metal but please tell me more about the stress of being overpaid

Age, please punch Morgan in the face until he can't feel his face. Thanks.

I have never literally wept more than when I was UNEMPLOYED.

Does he wash away the tears with $50 notes?

He should spend a day with a nurse and then report which felt more tear inducing.

Yeah unlike the pressure of your reliance on job to be able to pay the mortgage or rent AND feed your family. Perspective

WhosFibbing Is this clown serious? And a CEO? Disconnected from reality.

actual footage

If you can't stand the heat David 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

“Ridiculously overpaid”. Couldn’t have said it better myself

My heart bleeds NOT Try being an underpaid underemployed worker pressured by managers to perform better faster and more productively whilst sadistic managers reduce the number of workers.

Perhaps they're just not up to the job?

Oh cry me a river. That's what the salaries are for. And if you don't like it, then take a less stressful job. Sick people who get evicted from their homes when they can't pay mortgages do literally weep!

lol awwwwww poor babies they can waste energy on crying? I'm usually too numb after a 12 h shift to bother.

Show me where the bad man forced you to be a CEO.

How would this grinning bab*^n know that other men weep in private. Does he have a little spy hole, or hidden camera in their offices.

Suffer in your jocks, thieves. Poor people have hard jobs too, and then go home to weep over bills, rent and how to feed their kids.

Lots of people have jobs that are pressued and upsetting for all sorts of reasons... harder to soothe oneself on $60k pa. Suck it up CEOs ..the Bollie and Grange that is

If you’ve never cried at work you’re truly fortunate

We want them to weep a lot more

I don't know what's more out of touch.. that he thinks working people don't ever have emotional breakdowns because of thier jobs... Plus the stress of being poor... or that it didn't dawn on him that we can't even afford a therapist every time we do.

What a complete load of bullshit. Yes, they're vastly overpaid, no, I don't believe that any of them have the right to sympathy for willingly choosing to do a job so badly that they feel self-loathing. Whining whingers and shithouse 'leaders' don't get my sympathy.

Don’t kid yourself David, there are many directors / managers that are paid high 5 , low 6 figure salaries that lose sleep and live daily with significant stress due to the pressures / targets and expectations people like you put on them. accountability

Yeah. 'pressure'. Not about economic insecurity, but on whether you'll be able to go to the Hamptons with a bigger yacht than Nigel Smelting-Vandillinginham VI to show how you're totally not still bitter about him beating you at polo in 1972.

Is this an Australian phenomena? That would an interesting story.

boo fucking hoo

cool I weep in private for nine bucks an hour

If that’s that stressful you can always get a nice stress free minimum wage job cleaning toilets.

I’ve “literally weeped” in public while getting paid $7.25/hour but okay...

Poor cupcakes. Do they care about their underpaid staff?

Overpaid and out of touch with how the community lives all CEO's salaries should be reduced and no share options as they only rip you off to make their targets so their bonuses are paided which are more obscene than their wages

That is absolutely irrelevant. The reason CEOs get paid ridiculous amounts is that they actually generate millions of $ of value for their respective companies. If they are not paid that much they will leave for other places that do.

They should weep more. They should constantly be incoherently gibbering curled up on the floor in terror and pain

This is what entitlement looks like; weeping over a job you can quit and never have to work again vs weeping over finding rent money.

Oh please did you weep.

try waiting tables at a restaurant for CEOs sometine

I would cry in private if I was obscenely overpaid too. Probably in joy. Bludgers auspol

Weep with joy at the sight of their pay packet. Lots of jobs cause stress and sadness, far worse than a highly paid CEO. Meanwhile single mums are weeping in the streets at the burdens being placed on them.

So sad for them. Imagine crying - but instead of getting paid $$$$ you cry and can't afford to pay your rent/mortgage/bills.

Yes. Literally everyone cries from stress. No one is special in this regard. The only difference between haves and have-nots is money. I love how they say this as though it's a revelation.

Seriously? Are we to feel sorry for these opportunistic, legal but immoral, thieves? 'Here. Have a few million of other peoples money. Oh. Ok then. If you insist.'

Oh fuck right off

Some folk weep when they are ridiculously underpaid.

Bullshit.

Do they dab their tears with hundred dollar bills?

Breaking news, cockwomble; lots of people’s jobs make them weep, & they are NOT paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.

CEOs are the makers of their own destinies. Their collective willingness to prostitute themselves, to support the degradation of services and worker's lives and livelihoods as well as their own in the pursuit of profit deserves no sympathy. We lack leaders. bankingrc auspol

I had daily panic attacks from some of the jobs I worked. Labor I did that these guys got a bigger cut of the profit from than I did. Jobs I had to work to keep from defaulting. CEOs are wealthy enough they can retire if the pressure is too much for them.

These f*cking babies! Do they even know the stress their under paid workers go through? How many CEOs are worried about keeping a roof over their heads, paying for child care, paying medical bills and student loans? These a-holes don't know what stress is!

if they filmed this weeping I'd probably pay to watch it

im going to punch every ceo in the fuxkin elbow

In the (unlikely) event that nobody else has already said it, for only $15mill p,a., performance bonuses, share options and a golden parachute when I'm tired of it, *I* could probably do that, too ...

GTFOH

and none of them would last an hour at a real job

So being a CEO is a lot like managing a McDonalds then. Interesting.

Is this for reals?!!

should I feel bad for them then?

i hope he weeps in the guillotine

So delegate the responsibilities... don't cry about it.

I bet a few nurses and cops do that too.

I’ve literally wept about my job many times. $10M would’ve helped...

These ridiculously overpaid CEO’s who literally weep under the pressure of the job are obviously not CEO material. The real CEO would be more concerned about their peers and employees given the pressures they would be under given such a work culture. How pathetic 😞.

martinjcowling Boo frigging hoo counting all those millions is a cry for help....NOT.

Then reduce the salaries, change expectations of shareholders and select CEOs on true ability not on their CV hype.

If you pay me a “ridiculously overpaid” amount I’ll weep in public idgaf

Plenty of people who aren't overpaid weep at their jobs. Any job where bullying is involved, for example. All of us are now injured workers on some subsistence living because we were sacked while injured then compensation cut off. Cue the violins for these overpaid mobsters.

Yeah. I know people who have been in great distress about the pressure of their mortgage on their second investment property... and I know other people who have wept with the distress of casual employment on a minimum wage because their manager underpaid them and they can't eat.

Then quit.

hannj666 So I'm guessing he donated huge amounts of his income back then to charities right?

I’d rather cry in a Lambo than a commodore.

I agree with David. CEOs are ridiculously overpaid and a road to happiness is for them and their banks to take a massive paycut and redirect all that $ into taxes to pay for our public services .

Not just 'some'. They're all crying all the way to the bank. Then this big piggy goes weep weep weep all the way home to his mansion past the homeless people he's foreclosed on. I'd like to say who's crying now, but after the no fault for thieves Royal Commission it's us again.

Cool I had a 14/hr job and I cried, too.

Anyone at all who has to weep in private or publicly has by definition been promoted beyond her/his ability to do the job.

The rest of us could take weeping in private while We were counting our millions..beats weeping in private worrying if We’ll have a roof over our head tomorrow

poor little ceo man :'( exploiting workers is so difficult :'(

Let me know when a CEO ever feels so overworked that they attempt or commit suicide while they're still on the clock

Boohoo

whatever, give me 8 figures and I'll weep whenever the hell you want

RobjoyAu Not only CEOs let me assure you, but also lesser ranks who aren’t handsomely/obscenely rewarded. Some people do real work.

they should be ashamed of what they are apart of truth is they have no morals only greed

Yeah? Well I was *underpaid* and also was weepying from stress, as well as having PTSD episodes, migraines, bowel trouble, and hyper-startle responses. So I guess being a line worker is worse and the rich boys at the top can suck it up and deal.

So sad

me too bitch but I only get paid 10 bucks an hour

Down here at the lower end we don't have cool stuff like pressure, we just get crushed.

Oh boo fuckdy hoo. Are your tears ruining your exorbitant amounts of money?

Where did I leave my fucking violin?

Then they should simply quit and get a job they like more.

yeah like I didn't 'literally weep' from the fucking insane pressure bosses put me under on minimum wage.

Has anyone told him how many people weep from stress in their jobs and AREN'T paid the equivalent of a lotto jackpot every year?

hannj666 ffs..I earn a lot less and the pressure of my job can have the same effect ...what's he want ? Pity ? he has mine.. I know how it ends ... Roll on Judgement Day

O Dear

Awww..my heart bleeds..I've worked with tellers earning just above minimum wage who openly weep on the way to & from work every day thru the pressure of achieving the impossible sales targets imposed. CEOs are responsible for the creation of the bulling culture & U want sympathy?

At least they have a lot of spare cash to wipe their tears away. Cry me a goddamn river.

If it's too hot in the kitchen....

The payment to CEOs is obscene and helps maintain the myth that these CEOs have greater ability than the toilet cleaner

So does my work as a nurse but I get paid a little less than a CEO

Bull - ridiculously overpaid I agree with but give me a break with the pressure of the job - no more or no less than most workers - tell that to your middle management or frontline staff and I am sure that they won’t have any sympathy

I seem to remember being told years ago that we had to up the rate to get quality leaders. But in the end we paid a lot more for the same old shit. Actually, when I think about it, we had better quality shit back then.

I agree

Will someone think of the rich white men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

LadyPoop2 Might be hard to believe but people who don't have six figure salaries literally cry in private too

Wait so if I weep in private I get millions of dollars? Sweet! When can I expect my check?

LadyPoop2 Would that be weeping over a magnum of Moët, David?

LadyPoop2 🤣🤣🤣 Weeping, these scum stole from dead people on an industrial scale. They don't have human emotions. They are literally the 21st century version of body snatchers.

platozkv Nurses, teachers, paramedics...etc literally weep several times a year. How about we give them million dollar bonuses too!

😂😂😂 Weep they couldn’t get the new Aston Martin in pink!?

So many people here have NO clue about what this amount of responsibility feels like. You'd wilt under the pressure.

Using some extremely expensive tissues.

nikt50 I gather those that have sold their souls do weep.

AnthonyCole68 I’m sure I would weep into my caviar if I was earning $10m per annum.

Yeah no one forced them to become overpaid crying criminals

Robo-debt made people 'literally suicide'

The amount of money, paid to men or women, earning, this amount equals pinnacle status, can it justify mistakes at boards expense, who at times have no eyebrows.

We also weep over the pressure our $90k jobs give us!

You serious bro, think that is pressure. Try picking up the kids from school knowing you can't afford to feed them dinner tonight.

Pussy's

So quit then, give your fortune away and register with centrelink. Live dangerously.

And my heart weeps for them...

Shut up- FFS. Pathetic. ‘Pressure of the job’ and ‘literally weeping’ please just go away.

they can literally weep in public once we get the slicey bois out for them

It wouldn’t be an easy job- hence the compensation

Try being a teacher in a public school or a DOCS worker... there are real situations which do make you weap. Much cheaper for everyone concerned.

That's their filthy guilty consciences that are making them weep...no sympathy, have dealt with too many of the criminals and none have paid the price they should have for what they have done. JAIL the lot and seize THEIR assets to pay their victims some compensation for the evil

And are we supposed to feel sorry for them ? Get real

There are those who also weep at work and are paid a pittance.

If someone is willing to pay them that much, and is satisfied enough with their work to continue paying them that amount, they aren't overpaid.

What a fucking shame! Poor old millionaires.

There’s not a violin small enough for this poor bloke.

To be fair, I would literally weep if I was earning a seven figure sum.

Feel free to surrender your pension. Same old trend. Work hard, become independently wealthy, retire and indulge your “feels”

Crying while he counts his money, yeah, sure, what a bloody hypocrite! He won't give any back and he accepted the ridiculous overpayment he received he has as much credibility as a born again virgin.

Cry me a river

Gosh! Not just weep, but literally weep. Who doesn’t? I do it for less than average wage.

poor banksters. they steal & defraud their customers. foreclose after altering their contracts, revalue asset to below loan balance. that should weep tears of blood.

I also weep when I look at my pay slip.

I’d weep in in private for a quarter of your remuneration

The current government makes me weep in private and I don't get paid at all.

Cry me a river. Must be difficult having disposable income while your workers struggle to make ends meet 🙄

If you’re weeping from your clifftop holiday house and nobody but the butler can hear you....

And so do teachers , nurses and police to mention a few for maybe 5% of there obscene pay 😂🤮😂🤮😂

It's great that David Morgan Has been able to branch out into comedy post-Westpac.

ooo look rich people weeping my heart bleeds

Yeah well imagine being the frontline pleb who has to achieve the sales numbers that the CEO decides on - often in no relation to current market conditions. And being paid diddlysquat. Then you will know about stress and tears.

boohoo poor big rich man ;(((((

I’m sure just as many teachers and nurses ‘literally weep in private’ too, but for a fraction of the money 😡
