American pop star Pink donated $500,000, while comedian Celeste Barber appealed to her thousands of social media followers to chip in.Pink told her 32 million Twitter followers she was"totally devastated" about the firesThe star power has sparked massive donations, but more locally there is also a groundswell of support

The donation drive, which ends at midnight, will fund disaster relief and recovery programs, including support for people at evacuation centres and cash grants for those who have lost homes in the bushfires Sydney man Nathan Roberts says he will take his excavator around the state on his Christmas break to help those affected by fires clean up.
