The court, which fields hundreds of requests each year and reviews few, has been asked to clear up a decision said to “severely curtail” the state watchdog.

In a briefing with his parliamentary oversight committee on Thursday, CCC chair Bruce Barbour confirmed the agency had been advised by the court a hearing would be scheduled this year.

Barbour was also quizzed by the bipartisan committee’s LNP chair, John Krause, about the Operation Workshop report into claims of interference with the office of the Integrity Commissioner., which was bureaucratically blunt in its rejection of the allegations as “entirely ordinary” and description of phrases used by some media and the opposition as “mischaracterisation”.

After further questions from Krause, Labor MP Jimmy Sullivan stepped in to ask whether there were “imputations” within the questioning.

NSW river levels forecast to reach 70 year highResidents in New South Wales central-west may be locked out of their homes for up to four days as river levels are forecast to reach a 70-year high. The local community in Forbes, NSW is preparing for the Lachlan River to peak at 10.8 metres, a height unseen since 1952. 70 years is not very long. I was up Brachina Gorge a few days ago. 580 Million Years ago Australia was here. Stop comparing 70 years as some sort of relative measure. 70 years is a blink in the eye for everything except a human life. Which is itself a blink of the eye. I blame Dan Andrews.
