Independent schools are far better resourced than public schools and catholic schools, new research suggests.

A News Corp investigation found Independent schools had the lowest student-to-teacher ratio of 11.

7, public had an average of 13.8 and Catholic schools ranked the worst with an average of 14. Some experts are calling for smaller class sizes. Image: Getty
