The sport's governing body in Australia is ready to make significant cuts amid the coronavirus pandemic, as it posts a provisional operating deficit of almost $10 million.

Breaking down the latest news and research to understand how the world is living through an epidemic, this is the ABC's Coronacast podcast.

"To put it simply, there is no way of knowing what damage this crisis will have on our game, or for how long it will continue to impact us," he said in RA's statement. "It has forced us to make some extremely difficult decisions, and there will be even harder decisions to come as we continue to navigate the implications of the virus on the game's finances.

"It was important for us today to review the year and reflect on our learnings from 2019, however the uncertainty that we are facing regarding our immediate future naturally led the discussion at the meeting." RA's operating costs increased by $6.6 million in 2019, with the Folau legal case tipping the scales alongside extra community grants and player payments.

Yet when we tried telling people RA was going bankrupt last year before the Izzy saga, no one wanted to listen! Castle must go. How many sports can she run a demolition crew through?

Have you watched a game. Enough damage done

Maybe they can borrow some money from Israel Follau? ☺️

Was in trouble before Coronavirus was on the scene at both a grass roots & domestic level.

Izzy Falou won out of this didn't he.
