The Andrews Government has decided to sack Casey council, which has been embroiled in a scandal involving allegedly corrupt land deals, government sources have confirmed.

The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting on Monday and could be enacted in the next day or two. Administrators are expected to be appointed for an extended period, potentially into next year, and elections at Casey Council planned for later this year are expected to be cancelled.

The IBAC inquiry heard of elaborate schemes by allegedly corrupt developer John Woodman to influence and buy off key figures at Casey Council to try win favourable planning decisions. The Sunday AgeCentral to IBAC's Operation Sandon is Mr Woodman's bid to rezone industrial land in Cranbourne West to residential on behalf of developer Leighton. That rezoning bid was potentially worth more than $100 million to Leighton, now known as CIMIC, and millions to Mr Woodman.

Mr Woodman funnelled money to the councillors through a range of means, IBAC heard, including using a fake name to pay off Cr Ablett's credit card and also through buying 75 per cent of his rural property.

And the taxpayers keep having to put their hands in their pockets to pay for stupid decisions buy the state government.

Any criminal charges to apply?. Or the usual situation of regrouping and reinventing yourself to continue the scamming. Who needs overseas scams when our home grown ones manage to scuttle under rocks for safety.

Unless criminal charges are dealt to those corrupt councilors what will stop others trying this on?

Surely now Joshuagilligan & WyndhamCouncil Councillors need to be investigated by AdemSomyurek for the very questionable deal involving giving away $10’s millions of ratepayers asset to a very risky developer, without question, simply in the name of a failing ⚽️ franchise?

Does that mean Aziz stops getting paid?

Victorian taxpayers deserve police charges..........of course they were going to get the sack.

Lol

RFS denies sacking firefighter over expletive-laden rant at Morrison | Sky News AustraliaPrime Minister Scott Morrison has thrown his support behind a firefighter who criticised him at the height of the bushfire crisis. \n\nPaul Parker claimed he was removed from duty after he was filmed launching an expletive-laden rant at the prime minister, accusing him of poorly handling the disaster. \n\nMr Morrison said on Monday the firefighter had his full support, adding “I understand Paul was feeling incredibly exhausted and drained and he was working his tail off defending his community”. \n\nThe NSW Rural Fire Service confirmed Mr Parker was not dismissed from his duties over the January 25 comments. He should be encouraging him to go to anger management classes. That is good, how you sack a volunteer I have no idea. But he should be stood down for health reasons and his wellbeing. He is obviously very exhausted & stressed and needs some rest & possible therapy. In saying that i would expect all the volunteers do. They did a great job Anyone seen a sorry form this dickhead and his new mate vanOnselenP for telling lies?
