Jenny Hallam was facing 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty to manufacturing and supplying cannabis oil to sick people. 9News

Ms Hallam went on to thank Judge Soulio for showing leniency, saying people like her are just trying to save lives.

"I didn't want to break the law, I didn't mean to break the law, I didn't want to be a criminal, I'm not a criminal but sometimes desperate people do desperate things and these are desperate times when it comes to cannabis. There are so many people that out there need it," she said. "I want to thank Judge Soulio, his honour for granting a no conviction. To me it sends a message that they understand that there's a problem with access out there.

"There's something very, very wrong going on in this country that the government will not let people access it." Ms Hallam was producing large quantities of cannabis oil for seriously ill people and not for commercial supply, the judge found.Ms Hallam said she doesn't know what the future holds but is considering all options, including a job offer.

That's a lot of time wow.!!😨😨😨

Ironic, yet you can be on ice, kill someone and get just 2 years because your lawyer says the ice made you do it. If this woman cops any amount of fines we should start a GoFundMe page for her.

Good as it does help people, used in excess does make some be welfare bludgers but its a great herb that relaxes and takes away pain.

What about Tony Bower?!

What should be on trial is the clumsy, ineffective, expensive and difficult to access medical cannabis scheme introduced by the LNP. The way they gone about producing and supplying the market demand shows only ineptitude and disinterest.

Ban alcohol

Great News. Legalise this medicinal herb. What a pathetic reflection on our society that we legalise alcohol that kills so many people and destroys families yet criminalise something that has significant medicinal qualities and is a peaceful encourager. End the Police State
