‘Can’t believe he’s coming back so soon’: US great’s big concerns for both Tszyu and Kambosos

Is this the longest staredown ever? | 04:29 America n fight great Shawn Porter has expressed concern over Tim Tszyu ’s quick return to the ring after his bloody world title loss – stressing “I would’ve liked to see him wait” -- while also conceding nothing in George Kambosos’s last three fights suggest he will upset Vasiliy Lomachenko this Sunday.

Asked after Wednesday’s press conference about both Australian stars, Porter started by tipping Kambosos to lose a gritty 12-round war against Ukranian superstar Lomachenko. “There aren’t too many fighters who have these lacklustre performances without being able to pull it together.”“Lots of punches, lots of movement, force him to throw things that he didn’t know were there.“Lomachenko is going to set up his angles and work accordingly – use that southpaw stance and use it masterfully.“And he has to be busy to win this fight”.

Porter quickly added he saw no similarities to this fight and, say, the last fight of Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao – who lost to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. When it comes to Tszyu meanwhile, Porter expressed concern about the 29-year-old returning to the ring just five months after losing his WBO super welterweight crown to Fundora thanks largely to a huge head cut – which saw him fighting almost blind for 30 minutes.
