Angus Taylor says many parents in Australia can simply “no longer afford” organised sport for their kids with most of the family budget swallowed up by the costs of essentials.

Angus Taylor says many parents in Australia can 'no longer afford' organised sport for their children as cost pressures bite

“When I asked why the answer was simple and heart-wrenching. Many families can no longer afford organised sport for their children.Mr Taylor said the inflated costs of goods and services across the country means parents are being forced to prioritise paying for “bare necessities” over what once were considered normal activities.

“At a time of uncertainty with the softening job market families agonise over how to make ends meet if the worst should happen. A whole generation of Australians have not experienced this until now.”

Canberra Organised Sport Trend Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor
