Former NRL playmaker Brandon Wakeham is facing jail time after being charged with supplying illegal drugs. The former Canterbury and Wests Tigers player, who now plays for NSW Cup outfit Blacktown, was arrested at training in Brookvale on Wednesday afternoon as part of a major police investigation. The 25-year-old had been selected to play for the Blacktown Sea Eagles — Manly’s feeder club — against the Bulldogs this weekend.
“You don’t have to say or do anything if you don’t want to, do you understand that?” Wakeham sat down and covered his face with his t-shirt while police searched his car. He was immediately taken the Manly Police Station where he was charged with taking part in supplying prohibited drugs greater than large commercial quantities, taking part in supplying prohibited drugs, and participating in a criminal group.
