What do Matthew Flinders’ descendants want?

MatthewFlinders is not the property of Australia, FrankPangallo.

Crazy he’s English leave his bones where they are

Here we go again. Some stupid idea propagated by the corrupt infantile media.

Leave the man's remains in his own county with his own people where he was buried. He isn't an artefact for an exhibition.

Why? He was born and died in England. For years Australia begged the British Museum to return the remains of Aboriginal Australians. Are we thinking of holding Flinders as ransom?

Gee they got that memorial up quick didn't they!

Why Leave him in the history books where he belongs. Colonialism is not something to celebrate.

He was British just like the white invaders were.

Now where are Baudin's remains? Languishing in a Mauritian cemetery somewhere. Not even in his home country.

LennaLeprena Seriously who fucking cares where he’s buried. Nobody did up to now.

LennaLeprena But he’s not Australian

What a futile and redundant exercise that would be. The only newsworthy thing about it is how ridiculous an idea it is.

But he was a Pom. Why would he have wanted to be buried in a foreign land?

Does Frank Pangallo realise Flinders was English ?

agree

Why He was English. God Australian politicians are just dead stupid

It’s not his home !

WHY...

Why? He belongs to England, not Australia. He was a great English explorer. Leave him be. There are more important things to spend money on.

simple, just pay the poms a couple of million dollars and they'll agree!

Should Matthew Flinders remain in London, where he was buried, or exhumed and shipped to South Australia, where he never lived?

WHY ?

It would be good to return him to Australia....with Bungaree. Instead of building ANOTHER Endeavour let’s reunite these two and return them to Australia.

What would Flinders himself want?

Only an MP could come up with such a ludicrous idea. Yep, Flinders was a great individual who however was British and was no doubt interned by family and friends in his home soil. Sod off Frank and spend our taxes on something worthwhile.

Also. No one forgot flinders for the 205 years. Half the country is named after him

Does he intend to practice phrenology on them? If not no dice

Poor idiot

No. He has the right to be buried and rest in his own land.

I think his English descendents might have other wishes. Surely he was buried at a place that meant something to him and his family at the time.

'............heave away, haul away Haul away, you'll hear me sing, we're bound for South Australia'.

Yeah, not gonna happen.
