Federal Labor's climate change spokesman says he would accept any call by his leader to shift portfolios, if it helped to end a rift within the caucus over the party's policy direction.

Federal Labor's climate change spokesman Mark Butler says he would accept any call by his leader to shift portfolios, if it helped end a rift within the caucus over the party's policy direction.

Mr Butler would not comment on whether he had discussed his future as shadow climate change minister with Mr Albanese this week. "I would accept it with 100 per cent confidence that he was making that decision on its merits, not because Joel Fitzgibbon or because Senator Gallacher … had called on him to do it," Mr Butler said.

How's leaving the portfolio going to help? We need leading to occur , or is this a typo?

But it won't help. Just shows instability within the party. Albanese needs to look to his NRL team, South Sydney, lock in your 'spine', then stick with it. Changing your key personnel, means longer in opposition. On Climate Change, there is no second prize!!

it does not do any damn difference who is going to be there ...as you guys, cant do any shit when you funded by mining companies and banks.
