Brisbane streets locked down, residents told to stay inside as police operation unfolds

under the Public Safety Preservation Act this afternoon after officers were deployed to a welfare check which later evolved into a siege.

Specialist negotiators are currently at the scene on Bradman Street, where they are working with a man and woman reportedly holed up inside a property.The emergency declaration was made just after 1pm, with roads closed on Bradman Street between Bellrick and Peterkin Streets to all pedestrian and traffic.Authorities say people within the PSPA zone – including residents, employees or otherwise – must stay inside until further notice.
