Brayden Maynard has avoided a concussion after undergoing an assessment he initially tried to avoid following a heavy spoil gone wrong on Friday night. The Collingwood premiership defender earned a free kick early in the clash with the Western Bulldogs when he was collected from behind by Sam Darcy in the centre square.
Maynard taken from the field over concussion concerns. Maynard had a brief discussion with a doctor on his way to kicking a goal from the resulting set shot, and he promptly attempted to return to his position in the backline for the next centre bounce. Brian Taylor thought the defender was on his way to a confrontation with Darcy — but the Magpies had determined Maynard would need to undergo a concussion assessment.
