People celebrating the Easter long weekend in Queensland and the Northern Territory might have to put away the barbecue, with a downpour expected for those regions. Forecasts show a 7,000km-long band of cloud stretching across the NT, southeast Queensland and across to New Zealand from Friday.

Sunrise reporter Tamra Bow gives Easter weather update According to WeatherZone, the wet weather is being caused by the remnants of Tropical Cycle Megan and a low-pressure trough extending across the NT and Queensland. On Wednesday, Sunrise host Matt Shirvington crossed to reporter Tamra Bow who revealed the dismal forecast for Brisbane and surrounds, with showers predicted for the Queensland capital over all four days of the Easter long weekend. “This is a real shame,” Bow said.
