The agent of former Bulldogs player Jackson Topine reportedly emailed all 17 NRL clubs advising them of his client’s availability as a free agent just three weeks before Topine’s lawyer commenced legal proceedings against Canterbury.

A major twist has emerged in the Jackson Topine case over a move by his agent just weeks before the star commenced legal proceedings .

The 22-year-old alleges he suffered “psychiatric injury, deprivation of liberty, humiliation, indignity, physical exhaus­tion, physical discomfort, anxiety, embarrassment and fear” during the training session and has since claimed in his lawsuit that he suffers “ongoing incapacity to play” rugby league.

“Jackson’s name was on the list because our system noted him as coming off contract with the Bulldogs in 2024.
