Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in Newcastle Harbour by two people who had been fishing on Saturday night.Officers were called to Wharf Road about 8.50pm following the discovery near the break wall. Water water police have retrieved the body for examination to confirm the identity of the person and the cause of death.
Police are also looking into whether the discovery of the body is linked to the reported disappearance of a man of African appearance, 25, after leaving a hotel on Wharf Road late on Wednesday, January 20.
